Fellow Vets...
A link to the following tribute was recently posted in our "Thanks Swiftees!" Forum. I presented the link in the main forum but, for the benefit of those who may have missed it, I'm introducing it to this forum as well.
Dim your lights, turn on your speakers and be prepared for a moving experience.

It's great! Espically the picture of the Air Force Security Policeman and his K9! That's what I looked like across that great big pond in SEA!

What more can be said? EVERY picture tells a story. It says what I've struggled 35 years to say. |

I can take quite a bit,but I gotta admit it -- I choked at the end. My daughter was in Kuwait during the overthrow of the butcher of Bagdad. I was proud of her but never considered that there were kids who were proud of their parents' service during Viet Nam.

A new version with some anti-Kerry material at the beginning is here:

You do have to have the flash viewer installed in order to see it, though. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

I can't stop crying. Typing is wierd through tears.
I'm sitting here in front of a little shadow box which hangs on the wall behind me. When we buried my old man a couple of years back, he got a detail from the 101st to shoot his salute and bear his casket. I took those medals off his uniform just before we closed that box for the last time.
Before that, when I met the detail - a 2LT, SSG, and, I think eight PFCs PV2s or PVTs -- I insisted that they come with me to see my father's body, prior to closing his casket. I wanted to show them what Vietnamese jump wings looked ilke, and a Cross of Gallantry with Star, and to show them his DFC, his V devices, and his KSM with silver campaign star. I wanted them to see a senior officer's tunic with a Good Conduct Medal on it (my Dad was commissioned in combat in Korea). I will show this video tomorrow to 35 or so ROTC cadets here at James Madison University, and I swear, if any of them nods his head like he's falling asleep - I think I'll butt-stroke him!
I wish all America could see and appreciate this short little video.
I wish I were Christian enough to forgive people like John Kerry for what they've done to our nation and our brave veterans, including my father. I just can't. As my father used to say, I will accept their apology when it is followed by their public suicide.
And I will not tire of telling people, and of getting out to the mall and handing out literature, calling radio stations, writing letters to the editor and waving my sign and sticking on my bumper stickers - not ever, until we see people like John Kerry held accountable for their treason.

When I tried to view it, all I got was sound. When I right-clicked on the little Windows icon I got a pop-up which read "Sorry, this site is copyright". _________________ Success is not final; failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. (Winston Churchill) |

If you look under some of the other offerings under "Inspiration," be prepared to grab a kleenex. Very few things actually move me to tears and give me a lump in my throat. This is one. _________________ Clark County Conservative |
