Quote: | Reid said the communications staff will be an aggressive operation "to spread the word and get the truth out." Reid has contended Democrats failed to reach rural voters this fall, leading to wide Election Day losses in those communities.
"As Democratic leader, I will ensure that all Americans -- from my rural hometown of Searchlight to the nation's big cities -- know the values and principles for which Democrats stand," Reid said in a statement. "We will use every tool and innovative avenue available to us to get our message out."

He's opening a "war room" and his staff for this will be led by one of the swimmer's guys.

If the democrats have any chance of making in roads with rual America they will need to make some serious changes.
1. It is ok to kill a child as long as it has not taken it's first breath
2. We need to be more open minded about the definition of marriage
3. Oh those men and women in harms way are being sacrificed because President Bush mislead us into war
I could go on & on with more but I do not see the democrats giving in on any of these issues. _________________ Defender of the honor of those in harms way keeping us out of harms way.

So Senator Reid thinks Dems lost this election cycle because they failed "to get the word" out? LOL, Senator you lost precisely because you DID GET YOUR WORD out through the OLM, Micheal Moore, Moveon.org, etc. etc., your "WORD" was simply rejected by the American People. |

They have to have a "war room" to "respond to criticism?" That sounds real congenial. I don't even know what criticism they are talking about, but I think it has something to do with being asked pointed questions and being held accountable for what they say and do. (And they need Kennedy's staff to control & filter their responses....) Well, I suppose this will be interesting. |

The Senator is establishing a "spin team." They had all of the OLM with them and they still think we didn't hear them. What they don't understand is most people are sick and tired of being told there traditions, family values, belief in God, and other social mor'es are wrong and have no place in society. And they don't accept the fact that we do wear the "white hats", "we are the good guys", we go out of our way to help those in need, and give endlessly of our live's and treasure so others may live in freedom as well. Let them continue their delusional behavior and beliefs, it will relegate them to perpetual minority status. _________________ Chief Johnson

I started this thread because I live in Nevada, and have been dealing with the Dems control over our county ( the big blue blob at the bottom of the state map). We know Harry here. Just like the folks in SD knew Daschle.
We know he says he's from a small town and has that aww shucks stuff down to a science, but that is not the Harry Reid you'll see in DC. just wait for the fireworks, he will make Daschle look tame, round the middle of 2005. _________________ "The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I’m here to help." Yep, he's going to go to small town America and make a complete a$$ of himself. Rural Americans don't have a herd mentality. They are quiet, extrodinarily independent, and don't like outsiders coming around, telling them what they ought to be thinking.
All in all, I think he's just grandstanding myself. If he hails from a small town, he already knows this, but I'll bet a lot of the big city guys he was talking to don't.
Just a thought, respectfully submitted. _________________ God Bless America, and God Bless the Swiftees! |

Harry is from a bump in the road between Hwy 40 and Boulder City, called Searchlight. You need one to find it. He was raise by FDR Democrats. I will admit he had a hard childhood. That being said, Harry has been in DC wayyyyyyyyyy too long. He has a Liberal agenda. Actions versus rhetoric. What you DO means more than what you SAY every day of the week. _________________ "The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I’m here to help." Harry has to say these things as the leader of the Dems. I seem to
remember that he has had one "close call" election recently. His main
goal will be self-preservation. What happened to Daschle in a very red
state will be very much in his mind and he will not be able to obstruct
the POTUS "under the radar" as Daschle did for so long. Being minority
leader is better than sitting home in Searchlight, Nevada! _________________ Susan R. Morton |
