And you don't think they'e wierd? If not, then what? At any rate, they're awfully damn chummy! Don't tell Teresa H K, or he may be out his Ketchup!
All this in only a week?

Personally, I just think it's funny.
I know that what Kerry was going for was the whole "Fatherly" thing.
The fact that it comes off as creepy and a little gay, instead of "fatherly" is what makes it humorous.
And that's really all this is... Just another funny moment in the continuing saga of American Politics.
Hell, if politics wasn't funny, what would be it's redeeming value? _________________ 13F20P |

Okay, now that everyone has had their say, the point of the post was that these two are trying way too hard to show that they are perfect for each other and perfect for the country.
Kerry says I chose him because of this and I chose him because of that and I don't think he chose him at all. Like I said, Edwards was not Kerry's first choice by any means. Not long ago Kerry made the diaper comment about Edwards age when he, Kerry, returned from Viet Nam. He also said that Edwards didn't have the experience to be president.
Kerry does not run the DNC. He's the hood ornament and the DNC is the Oldsmobile. Edwards is on the ticket because he was put there, whether Kerry wanted it that way or not.
The butt-grabbing thing will fade away but right now the media is playing it up big time. Go to the American Thinker and click on the article Media Wants Kerry To Win.
You'll see them called The Sunshine Boys, The Gleam Team, Young and Dynamic and even Starsky and Hutch. One journalist even said this could give them fifteen points.
Kerry is overplaying his role to hide his resentment for being told what to do.
And yes, we have all known that Kerry IS a rich yankee snob and that, he can't hide. And Edwards' little down home Opie Taylor act will not offset that either. |

"John Kerry's choice of John Edwards as his running mate is reminiscent of 1988, when Vice President Bush, rejecting candidates with more 'gravitas,' chose a fresh-faced young senator, Dan Quayle, as his running mate. To be sure, this comparison is in some ways unfair to Quayle, who was twice as experienced as Edwards (four years in the House and eight in the Senate, vs. just six in the Senate)."
Well, back to the TRIAL LAWYER aspect. Edwards is by far "smoother" on camera and in his populist speeches than Dan Quayle ever was, or, let's be honest, John Kerry is. He's a young Bill Clinton -- "Slick Willie Jr."
Edwards' real experience of value is that gained from winning multi-million dollar sham malpractice suits that he received 1/3 of the award for (no mere 10% for such a super-ambulance chaser). These appear to be the skills that he was chose for. John Kerry is not only a creep, but he's a pretty drab creep. So it looks like Edwards was chosen for election purposes, and to hell with qualifications should he need to become President.
As to Trial Lawyers causing no harm, then rubbish, as most here rightly point out.
Edwards, and those like him in his particular "specialty", has helped to increase the number of (mostly unneeded) c-sections in this country (which has done NOTHING good for American women in particular), and furthered the decline in practicing doctors due to such as the high cost of malpractice insurance.
Lastly, no one should kid himself that the costs of the awards are born by the medical companies or medical plans -- those costs, like other "routine" business costs (as these have become) are all passed on to us peons to pay for; including those (private, government, even military) paying an ever higher portion of the cost of medical "benefits" (which are increasingly becoming like the "Old Gray Mare"). _________________ Paul |

Well, I'm sure you've heard that Kerry has sworn to make healthcare more affordable.
His contribution: He's taken one shyster out of circulation by selecting him as his running mate. _________________ Why ask? Because it needs asking. |
