How long did Kerry serve in Vietnam??
I have been told that he did two tours of duty in Vietnam.
I have like to have some links to the information about his time in Vietnam.
If you have any to sites other than the SVPT, that would be great.
Some of the people that I am dealing with have a bad reaction when it comes to this site.
If you want to know what I am dealing with, send me an PM. |

It is my understanding that Kerry spend about 4 1/1 months in country. A ship on which he also served operated off the coast of Viet Nam from time to tiime. I am not a navy vet so I don't know how long a ship had to be on station to count as a "tour" in Viet Nam, but most of the posts I have seen on this subject lean towards the idea that his tour on a ship is another bogus claim. |

Whatever you hear about kerry, his time included 30 days training. Which break it down means minus 30 days. Time for some Yule time cheer!
Once again it is my duty to say-------like duh---Merry Christmas _________________ MOPAR-BUYER |

Kerry served for a time aboard USS Gridley (CG21), a Leahy-class guided missile cruiser, before his transfer to Swift boats. Details of the vessel's history can be found here:
http://navysite.de/cg/cg21.htm
Another Gridley site which contains comments about Kerry by shipmates is here:

Apparently, Kerry's account of his time on Gridley, as told in 'his' book, Tour of Duty (which I have not read) is somewhat at variance with the recollections of some shipmates. At times, Kerry seems to be writing a John Wayne screenplay instead of an accurate account of his adventures on Gridley.
