(Importing and adding to my post in Doll's 'A Point of View' forum)

I am not making this up.

http://www.abcnews.go.com/US/Inauguration/story?id=425110&page=1

"Jan. 19, 2005 — For a possible Inauguration Day story on ABC News, we are trying to find out if there are any military funerals for Iraq war casualties scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 20. If you know of a funeral and whether the family might be willing to talk to ABC News, please fill out the form below:"

Comments from PowerLine blog:

Note that only the families of Iraqi war dead need apply. If a soldier died in Afghanistan, or aiding tsunami victims in Indonesia or Sri Lanka, or in a training exercise, never mind. That isn't the "balance" ABC is looking for.

Every time I think the MSM have stooped as low as they can go, they surprise me.

EDIT: ABC News has now pulled the offer and the link may not work. The quote above is verbatim from ABC's web site earlier today. Do you think even they finally recognize the utter debauchery into which they have descended? Probably not. They probably got a lead on a funeral and decided to quit. S. (7:53 PM 1/19/05)

What's not to believe? I mean after the last year does anyone expect the MSM to suddenly become non-biased? The stats are in and most of us probably have seen them; the positive stories on Bush verses those on Kerry, the negative stories on Bush verses those on Kerry. Bush got more than double the negative stories and Kerry got more than double the positive ones. Now we are to doubt that ABC would not try to offset a positive for Bush by running something that puts him in a bad light? Not hardly.

So how does ABC explain this outrageous stunt?

Must have been a Right Wing hacker?

Just like Karl Rove was the source of the forgeries at CBS?

Is this for real? I too find it hard to believe ABC could be so blatant. Is a confirmation coming from Drudge?

Good Catch Captains Quarters.

Are the operatives at ABC so stupid that they do not think the bogglers haven’t infiltrated their ranks? Or perhaps they justify this type of behavior with a sick twisted kind of thinking.

The networks are in self destruct mode. Only the delusional and naive pay any attention to them. What is really sad though is about 1/2 of the country is delusional or naive.

I wrote to ABC news and told them that they made me sick...and I told them why. It was on Fox today about them wanting to have a funeral of a service person to "balance" the inauguration. too bad they don't balance the bad news with the good out of Iraq! Sorry i didn't think of saying that!

War on Terror Head Lines

Bias media obsessed on the negative aspects on war on terror. However these war on terror stories are suspiciously absent that have gotten ignored or under reported by a by a media that is fixated on negative news.

6. Pakistan assists In the capture of Khalid Sheik Mohammed operational planner of 9/11 attacks
7. Saudi Arabia has seen the danger and has joined in on the war on terror
8. Saddam Hussein ignores UN Security Councils demand for a full accounting of weapons program for over a decade.
9. Saddam Hussein tried by his own defended by an American
10. Iraq security forces fighting terrorists along side of coalition forces
11. In fear of the civilized world Libya turns over chemical munitions and nuclear processing equipment.
12. A. Q. Khan Nuclear scientist selling plans to highest bidder is now out of business

16. Nearly 40 nations contribute forces to Afghanistan
17. Millions in the Middle East would like to live in freedom

CBS Rathergate

ABC - Night lines willingness to listen to the testimony of a handful of Vietcong while ignoring over 260 decorated swift boat veterans is a demonstrates an obvious bias to all who have an objective mind.

ABC seeks to use our fallen troops to balance the inauguration.

MSM you are very sick. Just do the right thing and cover the accomplishments of our troops.

The really humorous thing is that the left feels that the media is biased against them. If they had to experience a tenth of the bias that the right has they would be literally foaming at the mouth.

This was posted in "National Review Online" this morning:

http://www.nationalreview.com/thecorner/corner.asp

For those of you wondering if it really was ABC that asked on the Internet to find a military funeral to match the Inauguration, wonder no more. Last night on World News Tonight, you could see video of a flag-draped casket in a church, a picture of the killed Marine, a flag being folded over the casket, scenes of grieving funeral attendees, and the Peter Jennings voiceover: "In Rockport, Texas today, just about the time the President was speaking, there was a funeral for a young Marine reservist: 21-year-old Matthew Holloway was killed in Iraq last week by a roadside bomb."

Jennings did have the decency to note how this soldier had felt about his calling: "His brother told a local paper that as much as Matthew wanted to be home, he was very proud of what he was doing in Iraq. And it is something you hear from so many people in the services, including the ten thousand who have already been wounded."

It must have been all the more satisfying to ABC that the funeral was in Texas.
