				| Mild surprise at Bayh, he usually is more of a moderate. Interesting he would join with the moonbats.
I have to give some kudos to Lieberman for speaking out yesterday
and again today. Seems he is becoming disaffected by the outrageousness
 of his party.

Bayh was a bit of a surprise, but there must be more to it. I also noticed that The Lout from NJ arose from his crypt and voted in the finest tradition of the politically dead.

				| I once said Harkin will someday, soon, not recognize his own wife. Some of these clowns are just too old to be off their leashes. Nothing's changed.
And so ends another comical Barnum and Bailey Circus.

				| An explanation for Bayh's nay vote. Apparently, he wants to run for Prez in '08.
I guess he thinks he has to appeal to the far left to get through
the primaries. I think he better be careful in this regard, I doubt he
can get the Presidential nomination, and he jeopardizes his senate
seat from a conservative State like Indiana if he plays
 too much to the left.

				| I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Minneapolis Star Tribune for not taking Mark Dayton to task for his support of former Klansman and Dixiecrat Robert Byrd. While Dayton was a severe critic of Trent Lott for praising Strom Thurmond, he should not be held accountable for supporting someone with a worse record. Were the Strib to do so, it would mean that they would have to eventually admit that getting rid of the Taliban and Saddam were good things. THE HORROR, THE HORROR! _________________

Oh the Star Trib - the jewel of the north. The pride of Minneapolis.....

Dayton has got to go. In addition to everything else .. he has a fanatic glint in his eyes - I've watched him on Committees.. this is one hostile, angry, empty-headed little attack dog.

By the way, anyone followed elections over the years with regards to cabinet nominees? Is there a historical equivalent on either the republican/dem side to what we have seen take place with regards to the treatment of Condi? Is it common for Senators to call a Secy of State nominee a "liar?" I have never been politically involved so I don't have a point of reference as to what is "normal" or what is "brand new" in the evolution of the democratic party. I am trying to understand how these people get elected....

There are no historic precedents for this kind of vindictive obstructionism. This kind of thing began with the nomination of Robert Bork and has continued to sink to new depths as the Liberals lose power. It is motivated by the bitterness and hatred of the hard left and those who are the worst are only revealing themselves. It is self destructive.

It is almost enough to make me move from the land of cheese, bratwurst, and beer, back to the land of 10,000 very frozen lakes just so I could get involved in the campaign to defeat Minnesota’s most spoiled brat.

				| The Democrats really fear Condi. Think: if she does well as Sec. of State and purges that department of the liberal life-timers that in our era work to obstruct the goals of the White House, there may be no stopping Condi in '08. | |

				| Byrd, Dayton, Boxer, and the rest of the thugs and their drummed up rhetoric was reminiscent of a lynch mob the only thing missing was the rope and the rafter beam to hang it from. I am sure Byrd made his old KKK buddies proud beating up on this colored girl from Birmingham.

				| Just as they did with the unprecedented filibuster of judges, the Dems will claim that the Republicans did the same thing to Clinton's nominees.
This is an absolute lie, but the MSM lets them get away with claiming that
they are only treating others as they have been treated in the past.

They say that they are entitled to ask "tough" questions. What BB did
was insult Dr. Rice by calling her honesty into question. When you tell
the truth as you believe it to be, but you later obtain information that
casts doubt on what you said, can that really be considered "lying" in
the true sense of the word?

What BB did could very well undermine Dr. Rice's ability to be the best
SOS she could be because you may be very sure that our enemies and
so-called allies are aware of these contentious hearings. They will know
that she got the most "no" votes of any SOS nominee in US history.
