> This is the first national homecoming for Vietnam Veterans. It will be
June 13-19 in Brason, MO. There will be a fly-over with one of every type
of aircraft that flew in Vietnam! The Oak Ridge Boys will be there, as
well as many other big name bands. The Traveling Wall will be there.
There will also be a parade and a grand festival on a mountain top.
Everyone has to come! It's going to be great!

Ditto
I served as a Security Specialist in the USAF 75-79 post Vietnam.
It is from this experience I write these things. It was only after spending countless hours patrolling the Missile wing out in the open prairie land did I gain the trust of my older brothers who served in Vietnam who would open up and share with me the pain of America’s misunderstanding of their service. I will never forget the very teary eyed conversations I had on occasion and these guys are very weary of anyone trying to reach out to them. Time does not heal all wounds and a time of healing is what is required.
As stated in the Promo we have over 3,000,000 veterans. In addition there are millions of family members & friends who would like to participate in welcoming home our Vietnam era Veterans. As wonderful as Branson is I am certain it cannot host all of America and all of America should participate in this event.
I also hope that the most important message I was wrong about your service I apologize and welcome home will be the focus of the event for both those who need to hear the words and those who need to say them.
It is my opinion that those who most need to hear these words or say them will not make the sacrifices that are necessary to go to Branson MO. And to be frank the promo looks like a Branson Chamber of Commerce stunt and I am sure that I am not alone in my skepticism.
What I would like to recommend is that the core message of this event to be simulcast to venues set up across America where Veterans will personally be able to hear from others the words that need to be said for real healing to happen for both Veteran’s & civilian’s alike. I would also like to see a national TV broadcast of this event so even the most fragile of our Veterans in VA hospitals will be able to participate.
One more suggestion change the promo to include images of cityscapes across America so it does not appear to be a publicity stunt put on by the Branson chamber of commerce
I hope their will be many Americans who come forward and shake a Veterans hand and say the words “I was wrong about your service I apologize and welcome home”.
Thank you for what you are doing for our Vietnam era Veterans.
