So little reporting out of AFGHANISTAN – I had forgotten it’s winter there, too…(guess I won’t be complaining about the ice on my front steps anymore). All the work our troops are doing – all the suffering and courage and tenacity, there and in Iraq and elsewhere –

and then to have a mr kennedy venting his tiresome, time-worn attacks against the honorable missions of this country and the good work of our soldiers – and demanding a withdrawal/surrender -- it is just so hard to take…. Unfortunately, kerry has a full hour on "Meet the Press" Sunday and I am assuming we can expect more of the same… kennedy might have been setting the stage for his pal; getting the argument started. They chose Iraqi election day for kerry’s “debut” perhaps so he can specifically slam our efforts on that historic day; or so it seems to me – and maybe because that is a “day in the news” for Bush and kerry wants some attention -- we’ll see how far he will go in following kennedy’s cue. (On a day when Iraqi events should be flooding all the news channels, we will have to hear people arguing about “what kerry said on Meet the Press.” Maybe I’m wrong – but that seems to be how they operate… get in there and agitate and tear things apart -- make sure there can’t be a news day that might have positive news for America – that might contain something we can be proud of – like the unbelievable reality of elections in Iraq.) (...I'm still waiting to see the footage of the elections in Afghanistan -- anyone out there see Karzai win the presidency or give a speech or even smile and wave?)
