I've read the list of General Officers and Admirals who are supporting John Kerry for President and, while there are only 12 to date, am totally mystified how they could support this man. One of them I worked for and have known for almost 30 years. Any thoughts on this?

You can be thankful only 12 out of thousands could been bribed to support Kerry. I would bet all of them are cronies from the Clinton years Very Happy

There is a saying..."It takes all kinds...".

Not to fret. I believe the President will have a list of over 100 that support him.

Just my opinion, but probably for the same rationale that unions generally support Democrats...perceived self-interest. Flag officers are dealing with a myriad of issues at those levels, not the least of which is stamping "their" signature on current defense policy. Some might be incapable of subjugating their own egos in that regard. I believe a perfect example might be Wesley Clark who, I believe, must have taken great umbrage with the decision by the pentagon to prematurely relieve him of his NATO command. It must have been devastating to him. Didn't Clinton, purportedly, support Clark's position?

Just take a look at those General A**-***** and Admiral A**-*****
Wesley Clark? Ain't he the one that authorized sending tanks and Army Equipment to Waco and caused the death of all those innocent civilians who were just practicing their religion?

I say recall all of them strip them down to Major or LtCdr's and then kick them out! And, get their son's and daughters out of the Academy's!

These 12 flag officers are those who opposed transformation in their respective services. They're from the Shinseki school - big/heavy forces.
They lost, and now they want to find a candidate who backs them.

The Pete Schoomakers, Doug Browns, and John Abizaids are the 21st Century warriors the country needs to fight an asymmetric enemy. They don't think conventionally. They learned the trade in the SOF school.

Kennedy is a personal friend of Hillary, and token Army female Military Intelligence General Officer. I don't know how long she was a BG, but she was a MG for about 6 months before her promtion to LTG. She lost out on a promotion to General to a male LTG, so she dropped a EEO complaint on him and quickly retired.
