On my way home from church today I happened to be listening to a
new talk radio station in my area. I discovered it recently when one
of my students mentioned that it carries Sean's afternoon show, so it
is obviously not a liberal station. A man was talking about how it was
really time for "progressive" (new code word for liberal) talk shows
to come into their own. He mentioned how they are outnumbered
14 to 1 (his figure) by conservative talk shows and that there was a
real void that could be filled with the "right" show - one that was
entertaining and informative. After all, he said, people like variety.
The liberals just don't get it. They have to hide their true convictions
behind the term "progressive" and have to subsidize their talk shows
with donations since they can not attract advertisers. They do not
understand the law of supply and demand. Due to the liberal slant
of the majority of the MSM, there was a true void that Rush, Sean,
Laura, FOX, and the bloggers were able to fill in order to satisfy
the demand of conservatives for news that was not slanted to the
left. It's liberal ideas that most talk show "junkies" have no interest
in listening to because they can hear them 24-7 on ABC, CBS, NBC,
and NPR. _________________ Susan R. Morton |

Sometime when you get bored try to listen to one of thier call in shows, its an insult to your mentality. I just wish there was a way to tally thier listeners and cut off public funding. _________________ MOPAR-BUYER |

We have two of these shows here in Louisville, Francine in the morning and Denton Randall on the weekends.
In some way I think they are riding the shirtail of conservative radio trying desperately to sound middle of the road. I wonder if the movement is making an effort to redefine moderate.........hmmmmmmmm.
The liberals that complain about Rush I usually tell them,"I agree I don't listen to him either- too dog gone liberal for my taste". For the conservative radio listener this usually elicits a laugh but for the liberals they just stare and stare at me dumbfounded. _________________ Tin Can Gunline Vietnam

Liberal/ Progressives have NPR. Even AirAmerica (or whatever it is) has to take donations and gifts to support itself. Since the lib station in NY took it on, it's ratings have dropped. They were abysmal to start. Advertisers need listeners and Rush, Sean and the rest have them. Otherwise they would not exist. Liberals cannot understand this. _________________ 8th Army Korea 68-69 |

NPR is into your pocket like air america is. I suppose I would have to look at thier books while they're being cooked to follow the money trail. The money goes away if you dont spend it, what I would like to see is some way to decipher thier listeners to see if its something worth paying for?
As an example , last week I made a 4 hr. trip and listened to a righty radio show, it was balanced. Then at the same radio setting some gal out of Portland Ore. does her show, guess who her guest of honor was? Al Franken! (meatloaf head) , he bobbled around for nearly 15 mins. and said absolutly nothing. At some point he said he was proud of his daughter (who is a teacher) in a tough neiborhood.
If a station can't collect a given amount of thier own revenues they need to be deleted! _________________ MOPAR-BUYER |
