Be glad you have received that much, Dwybo. That's tons more than we received for a couple decades.
As for what are we doing to help disabled vets, maybe you aren't aware that several of us are also disabled, for various reasons connected to combat. Each does what he thinks best in their own way.
Stopping sKerry was a huge step to helping out veterans, our military and the nation as a whole. Keeping his scandolous conduct and lack of service in front of the nation does much to keep him from every being in a position to crap on servemen again.
If you are seeking special help with a disability, I again urge you to turn to the VA. If you wish information on sKerry, this is the proper place for it. If you wish to support him and see him eventually elected to the Presidency, there are several other forums set up just for that. Our goal is to expose him and prevent that. _________________ Clark County Conservative

To imply that all you're getting (if you are indeed a returning combat veteran) is a "Thank you for service" line is misleading - and insulting.
Support and solidarity with our soldiers in our culture is higher than it's been in thirty years. (Not ever having dealt with "Dogs and sailors not allowed," and much worse, you are allowed some leeway for your ignorance on that count.)
But, unless you have an agenda, you cannot fail to have noticed that programs have sprung up nearly overnight to provide whatever care you might need after having been in combat.
Physical and mental health support and care for returning troops are better than they've ever been. Military pay and benefits are better than they've ever been. And nobody in DOD or the VA is resting on their laurels in this regard - they're still working to improve conditions and make sure that our troops have everything that they need - before, during and after.
If you are a veteran of our country's military, you also have the prayers and thanks of a grateful nation.
Many here were denied that "luxury" - please allow them their feelings about that situation without deriding what, to them, would have been a treasure. I can't even imagine what today's kinds of support might have meant for them thirty years ago.
You have the best military medical system in history. Take advantage of it, if you need it. That's primarily what it's there for.
You will find plenty here who will do their best to help you and your situation - even though you've insulted them and derided theirs. The brotherhood (or sisterhood) doesn't end with a DD214. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

Hey Boots:
Be assured the nation is grateful for your past service and any past issues that did not result in your favor are not responsibility of the military in general, but perhaps with the personnel in your last duty station.
John Kerry is alive, kicking and has political power and that within itself is a threat to our way of life as we know it.
Maybe I didn't receive a prompt thank you from my country back in '67, but it did come and now there are no regrets only memories. _________________ FIRE MISSION: Kerry campaign in line of sight. |

Look guy's I agree Kerry is a weasle, but he's not unlike every politician in Washington. They all are weasles. I think there are better things to focus your energy into. Kerry's political career is over the next election cycle why the he11 worry with him? As for forgeting the past, you all seem to be wallow around in your past. Just remember the things that happened to you in your past is now our present. We could use some help getting though it by your past experience. As for our wonderful military medical BS, thanks to a Quack wannabe I ended up with my left leg paralyzed because of it. |

As you've been told, the help is there, if you seek it. The purpose of this forum is to expose sKerry for what we see him as. If you find that disturbing, maybe you'd have better luck seeking what you desire elsewhere.
Several of us belong to the DAV, VFW and other groups and are active in them. If you want support only through the internet, you're going to have a difficult time finding it. One on one support is what you need, not reading some monitor.
If you truly qualify, I urge you to seek them out. _________________ Clark County Conservative |

As I understand it, Terri's BIll passed the Senate by unanimous voice vote today, with a sparse attendace of Senators.
Any bets sKerry was absent?
I'll be curious to find out just who was there and voted to support this lady and her family. _________________ Clark County Conservative |
