Am I the only one that caught this and was offended by the following:
When John Couey appeared befor Judge Spivey, the Judge said in a cordial tone, "Good morning Sir" and then in a concerned voice asked this piece of human trash, "How are you?" I later read that at the end of the appearance, the Judge wished John Couey "good luck."
I'm not a lawyer but what's wrong with:
"Are you John Couey?"
"These are the charges against you."
And at the end, "You are dismissed."
When you reflect on what Couey did to Jessica Lundsford, would it be wrong to give gentlemanly courtesy "the deep six" and at least be indifferent to how he feels? I think not.

RogerRabbit,
You're right. Out here in La-La-Land we have grown too complacent with our status as the wierdest of the wierd.
I mean, c'mon. We have Boxer in the Senate and Pelosi (lights are on, but nobody's home) in the House. How could we possibly not be seen as the freakiest people in the country? We have braille on our drive-up ATMs, for God's sake (try driving here and you'll see why).
Lately, though, Floriduh has overtaken us. We must be polite to our drifter child molester murderers and give every accomodation to a millionaire husband who wants to kill his crippled wife because she is no longer convenient.
I guess now the rest of the country will see that old 60s (70s?) song as prophecy. "Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am stuck in the middle with you." _________________ DLI 78
