A short blurb from Oregon Public Broadcasting (see below) referenced Harry Kloor, a west coast film producer who helped produce Swiftee ad numero uno.

By Tom Infield and Meg Laughlin
Knight Ridder Newspapers
Sep. 10, 2004
WASHINGTON - Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, the Vietnam veterans group that set out this spring to make an issue of Democrat John Kerry's 1971 anti-war stance, has grown into a well-organized political machine with a multimillion-dollar budget and a network of Republican-affiliated paid consultants.
<snip>
The veterans and a Studio City, Calif., film producer, Harry Kloor, moved to a Washington studio to film interviews for a later commercial that would be put together by LaCivita and another political ad man, Rick Reed, a member of a team that had worked for Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., in his 2000 campaign for president.

As some of the old-timers in this forum may recall, Mr. Kloor first introduced himself to SVPT through this forum and are we glad he did!
Apparently his mere appearance at an Oregon GOP affair is enough to send some Oregon "progressive" vets into high anxiety. Trying to find a followup to his appearance and will post anything I come up with... (emphasis mine)
Quote: | Veterans Wants (sic) Swift Boat Ad Man Dis-Invited from Dinner
By Adrienne Wilson
Oregon Public Broadcasting
SALEM, OR 2005-03-18 - A group of veterans delivered letters Thursday to Oregon's Republican party leaders asking them to dis-invite a speaker for Saturday's Lincoln Day dinner. The speaker produced advertisements for Swift Boat Veterans for Truth during last year's presidential campaign.
Members of Oregon Veterans and Military Families for Progress say they're appalled that film producer Harry Kloor is speaking to the state's Republican Party because he helped create ads challenging John Kerry's military service.
Jim Fields of Eugene is a veteran of both Vietnam and the Gulf War. He says the issue goes beyond party politics.
Jim Fields: The issue is that we have a gentleman who was responsible for putting together ads, publicity, propaganda, that spoke against veterans. It doesn't matter which party they belong to.
But Executive Director of the Oregon Republican Party Amy Casterline says the letter is politically motivated because many of those who signed it are Democrats. She says Saturday's dinner will not be changed.

Jay ....
As you can tell from the following emails, it did not
take all day for the movers and shakers of SBVFT
to take full advantage of Harry's kind offer.
I well remember those dark days in June when we
all were frustrated by our inability to get anyone's
attention to our story. Harry's offer was a blessing
that provided a spark to get the media ball going.
That is what is so special about this organization:
the significant number of people that volunteered
their efforts and financial support to help counter
the attempt at denial of the first amendment rights
of veterans to speak the truth about John Kerry
Harry Kloor is certainly a Swift Boat hero to us all

The following showed up on the SwiftVets.com Bulletin Board
I do not know if this is an honest offer of help or not
But it is certainly worth a phone call.
============================================================
I would like to make a free commercial for Swiftvets.com
I have not served in the NAVY, but 8 of my uncles served in the NAVY in WWII and KOREA,
and my father served in the Army. I am a Hollywood producer and run a small company called
Jupiter 9 Productions. I would like to use our resources to produce a commercial for the net and
for TV that gets your message out that Kerry is not fit to be our commander. I created a series
that ran for 5 years, and I am currently producing a large format feature that stars Travolta and
Sam Jackson (along with many others). I have no connection to any campaign, but I do feel very
strongly that Kerry should not command our troops. I would love it if someone from your
organization could contact me.
Best Regards, Harry
Dr. Harry Kloor, Ph.D.
President Jupiter 9 Productions

A question of logic, would'nt it have been difficult for Jim Fields to be a veteran of Nam and the Gulf War without having been a fairly advanced oficer?
Is there a way of seeing a record of his actual military history, I'm thinking well over 20 years is along time for a enlisted man to serve with such political outlooks? Or an officer for that matter? |

Gee, rbshirley, doesn't look like the pixels even had time to dry.
Thank you, Harry Kloor!
