If anyone's still up and out there...
a friend's kid (about 10) has an assignment and needs help. They are
studying about Vietnam. It's my understanding that this teacher wants
some real live truth to be taught to her students. She gave them a
list of questions to ask anyone who lived during the Vietnam war or served in it (and of course, was also alive while they served).
If you could take the time to answer a few questions, it's your chance to
tell it like YOU saw it, lived it... but do remember this is for about 10 yr olds and they need short simple answers at this age .... but truthful!
If you want to answer them, just email them back to me and I'll email on
to her mom... it's due Wednesday!
Here are the questions:
Name:
Age:
Occupation:
Location:
1. What do you know about the Vietnam War?
2. What were you doing during the Vietnam War?
3. Did you or anyone else you know serve in Vietnam? What do you know about their service.
4. If you did not serve in Vietnam, how did you feel about those who did?
5. Did you know anyone who evaded the draft?
6. How did you feel about the draft evaders?
7. Did you ever protest against the war in Vietnam? Why or why not?
8. Do you think the United States should have become involved in Vietnam?
9. Have your views changed since the war ended? If so, how?
10. How do you feel about the United States reinstating the draft?
11. Can you remember any war protest songs? (name of few if you can)
12. Do you have any stories you would like to share?
13. What do you want young people to know that are learning about the Vietnam war?
Thanks in advance and Lauren says thank you too!
Here's your chance to put your 2 cents in to our youth! _________________ Stevie

Thanks to all of you sending me 'interviews'.
I found out that Lauren can turn in her interviews late,
so keep 'em coming! I'm sending them on to her just
as fast as I can!
I'll leave my email address here for another day or so...
I haven't read them myself yet, but hope to do that
a bit later today. You are all so interesting and I
so value your input on Vietnam.
I'm hoping to figure a way to expand on this 'interview'
idea to use it to educate our youth about Vietnam.
I'm open to ideas on that! |
