I know the polls will change over time and it is way, way too early to talk about 2008, but in kerry’s world, his dream-state continues day-to-day -- so I hope he profusely thanked the 2 democrats (out of 90!) who gave him first place votes – he’s going to need each of them (wonder how he feels about Edwards coming in 2nd to Hillary … ):
Quote: | “Romney, Kerry make top 5 of presidential poll,” by Glenn Yoder, Boston Globe – 4/29/05
Governor Mitt Romney and US Senator John F. Kerry each ranked fifth in a poll of Washington insiders that assessed the chances of the potential presidential candidates in 2008.
Participants in the poll, who included members of Congress, consultants, activists, and party officials, were asked by National Journal to predict the five candidates in the two major parties who have the best chance to be nominated. Five of the 85 Republican participants voted Romney as their top choice. The governor, who has not announced whether he will run for president, finished well behind US Senator George Allen of Virginia, who picked up 19 first-place votes and was lauded by one voter as the ''dark horse" of the GOP field.
Among Democrats, Kerry, last year's Democratic presidential nominee, received two first-place votes among the 90 Democratic insiders.
The top Republican choices were Allen, followed closely by US Senator John McCain of Arizona, then Senate majority leader Bill Frist, former New York City mayor Rudolph Giuliani, Romney, and five other Republicans. Of possible Democratic nominees, Senator Hillary Clinton of NY led the group by a 202-point margin, followed by former US senator John Edwards, VA Governor Mark Warner, US Senator Evan Bayh of IN, Kerry, and five others. |

this is too funny,he even comes in behind his running mate,,
what's interesting is that it was a poll of insiders not the general public...now all someone has to do is tell Kerry
blurb in this article from USNews.com
Thumbs Up for '08 For the Kerry Clan

Quote: | The Kerry clan is also pushing the Clinton electability issue. "Donors and organized labor love Bill Clinton, " says one Kerry friend. "But they're telling everyone they're terrified that she'd get stomped."
Friends of Hillary, meanwhile, are touting her front-runner status and joining in the chorus of Democrats who think Kerry should crawl under a rock and go away. "He had his chance," mutters a Clinton ally. "It's over." |
will be fun to watch the battle between these 2 camps play out, just imagine a primary debate between Clinton & Kerry,
wonder if she'd bring up the 180 _________________ .
