Thought someone might find humor in these:

I wish they were availible when and I had to make a shadow box for a retiring command master chief. 28 years an MM and never went on water. The one time assigned a sea-going billet he went medical. He had an NCM, NAM and several GC for a career spent at Great Lakes!

Thanks! Got a real laugh out of that one. I knew a Sergeant Major in the Army that only served on two stateside posts for his entire 30 year career. The first was Ft. Dix for basic training.

Jeeze! 28 years at Great Lakes as a MM? That takes the term
"homesteading" into the realm of fantasy. 'Course when I took
a 2 1/2 year westpac on the Swenson, we got into all the good places
when a buck still beat out any other money on the planet. Getting
stuck in North Chicago for the duration would be my version of
Hell.
