Iraqi Insurgents Seek Talks With US
DUBAI, 5 July 2005 — "A newly named spokesman for two Iraqi insurgent groups yesterday asked the US Congress to make an “official” offer for negotiations with Washington, according to an interview broadcast on Al-Jazeera television. “We will accept nothing but an official initiative from the US Congress with a precise timetable and a binding decision. Let this be clear,” Ibrahim Yusef Al-Shammari said, speaking on behalf of the Islamic Army in Iraq and the Army of the Mujahedeen.

Sound familar?
A precise timetable?????? Only from the Congress?
Seems the insurgents have studied General Vo Ngyuen Giap well. When you are losing, run to the likes of sKerry, Durbin, Kennedy and such and "negotiate" a victory. _________________ Clark County Conservative |

You guys nailed it!
The insurgents ARE in a quagmire and they're turning to the same damn tactics as they did 30 years ago.

This is a typical ploy by terrorists with their back to the wall.
The Philippine government has negotiated with Islamic terrorists for over 50 years and what has it gained them? A lot more terrorists, kidnappings and beheadings.
The United States government does not negotiate with terrorists and what has it gained for us? Respect from our enemy.
The Islamic radical knows there are only two Nations on God's Earth who will have the resolve to hunt them down and kill them; Israel and the USA. To even consider negotiating with these vermin soils the honor of those who lost their lives in this battle to protect our way of life.
The greatest sign you are making progress in a war is when the enemy begins to lose the will and capacity to fight. Desperation has set in when the only offensive operations you can launch are harassment forays with IEDs against the civilian population. Our troops are gaining ground each day and keeping the enemy on the run or killing them.
The Iraqi people are emerging from their Saddam induced coma and providing information against these radical pigs everyday. The new Iraqi Army and Security Forces are in the fight and dying in numbers far larger than ours, to realize the dream of a free Iraq. They are the Patriots of Iraq who will be revered by future generations.
It takes more than money to sign up for the Iraqi Army or Security Forces these days. These are the Minutemen of their Bunker Hill, or the troops at their Valley Forge who are fighting for the creation of a Nation. They have earned my respect for their display of courage fighting the good fight and dying for an idea of a free and democratic Iraq.

What splinter of terrorists do you negotiate with? Will all the other splinters go along with what the one splinter agrees to? What is there to negotiate? It seems pretty cut and dry, if you stay out of the way of Iraq establishing a representative government you will not get shot at. _________________ Defender of the honor of those in harms way keeping us out of harms way.

I just wish someone in the MSM would open his or her eyes and see what is really going on in Iraq.
The terrorists are targeting freedom as a way of life because they fear it so. In their warped sense they see freedom as the end Islam. If you have never been free how can you understand what it means?
The Jihad was never about a holy war; it was started out of fear. It was born out of fear of the loss of a stranglehold on the minds of Islamic people. Radical clerics fed this fear, nurtured this fear and finally unleashed Fatwas for a Jihad against freedom out of fear.
It is curious the terrorists who participated in 9/11 decided to forsake all their Islamic teachings and spend their last hours with strippers and drinking alcohol in bars. Islamic law and their teachings, strictly forbid both of these activities. So the question is why would they put their trip to Paradise in jeopardy? The answer is quite simple really.
Every man, woman or child on God’s green Earth wants a little taste of freedom before they die.

'negotiating' may work. Our Diplomats are much savier and capable than these savages. We never negotiate with terrorists over the release of hostages, but 'talks' to come to an agreeement that would initiate a cease fire have already been attempted by our side for quite some time. |
