"On MSNBC's Connected: Coast to Coast, Christopher Hitchens from Vanity Fair was involved in a complete verbal undressing of Ron Reagan. Reagan, like all the other feel first, hate Bush second, think last lefties, is so intent on re-writing history to make the case that the war in Iraq was illegitimate, got boxed around the ears by Hitchens. Here's the exchange:"

It amazes me how Michael, the adopted son, turns out more like Ronald Reagan than the actual blood son. _________________ Clark County Conservative |

I think he is forever thankful for not being aborted and having a loving family. I also find it interesting Lew that of all of Ronalds children it is Michael who was just as screwed up when he was young as Patti and Ronny yet rather then take the course of blaming Ronald or the fact he was adopted he took responsibility for his youthful indescretion and owned up to it, whereas Patti and Ronny are still arrested in development.
Well maybe not as screwed up as those two, but you get my point. _________________ "An activist is the person who cleans up the water, not the one claiming its dirty."

I caught most of it. Enjoyed it immensly.
For some strange reason I keep having a vision of RR on the floor looking up wearing a startled expression and a bloody nose.
Another guy I couldn't be in the same room with. Him or J.F. Kerry.
Guess I'm not much of a conversationalist.

Oh Tanya, I wish I'd heard this. It makes good reading... but it must have been quite a specticle. Hitchens is fantastic in his delivery. He debating Ron Reagan.... is hilarious.
You see all Reagan has to quote as his 'knowedge base' is the 911 commision report.
With all due respect he's got to be the dullest rock in the box. |

I would surely learn how to answer the question, "How did it feel to get do that?"
Although the answer would probably be, "My hand hurts."

Hitchens, once a liberal, has made a real turn around since 9/11. He got it. Proof that it can be done. |

What amazes me is the intensity the liberials like to quote the 911 Commission. That is only those portions they can re write to attack Bush. They never quote the sections that attack the Democrats and the Liberial Senate Intelligence Committee thaqt according to the 911 Commission totally screwed it up. The total 911 Commission Report has to be answered for not just a few miss leading excerpts. |

"How can you know so little?" said Hitchens.
Hewitt played the tape a few times yesterday. I thought lil' Ronnie would run crying for the exit.
Too bad some broadcaster couldn't get Hitch' locked in a room, on camera with another well named, mental midget, Teddy Kennedy. They'ld make some bucks. _________________ "KILL ALL THE LAWYERS!"

Hitchens would verbally castrate anyone suggesting that he's lost his liberal bona fides.
We can thank the Almighty he's on our side on this issue. |

speaking of Hitchens - look what he has to say about Hillary:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8503341/
Quote: | 'Scarborough Country' for July 7th
Read the transcript to the Thursday show
Updated: 12:10 p.m. ET July 8, 2005
Guest: Evan Kohlmann, Larry Johnson, Christopher Hitchens
-snip-
SCARBOROUGH: Boy, I'll tell you what. I'll tell you what. It's a dangerous reality.
Christopher Hitchens, earlier today, you had Hillary Clinton, senator for New York, coming out and actually criticizing George Bush, criticizing our government, saying that we're just not spending enough money on counterterrorism. Take a listen to what she had to say.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
SEN. HILLARY CLINTON (D), NEW YORK: But the fact is, the president's budget calls for a $50 million cut in what we appropriated last year. Last year, although Chuck and I wanted more money and the Senate unanimously passed a bill for $570 million, we got $150 million out of the Congress.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
SCARBOROUGH: Mr. Hitchens, is Senator Clinton correct?
HITCHENS: I have no idea. My presumption would be that she's just fooling with the numbers. But that's just because I don't like her and can't stand the sight of her. It's—look...
