I've always been a believer that there's judgement someday and in this case Mr.Jennings will have to answer to the decades-long manupulation of the news.
Only good thing I can say is that after a 35 + year career in Broadcasting he finally decided to get his American Citizenship(03).....takes awhile for some even those making $4 million a year. _________________ Tin Can Gunline Vietnam

Jennings was a heavy cigarette smoker and those things are not friendly. He was Lib, but he and Brocaw at least had a degree of decorum and intellect of which Blather had a serious deficit. Jennings was self made in a lot of ways and it makes you wonder why he was such a leftist sympathizer. RIP. A lot of things I did not like about him, but I did respect his abilities. He was good. _________________ 8th Army Korea 68-69 |

I put my faith in a predisposition to cancer. I've been pack-a-day for forty years but my gran peres smoked nickle cigars into their 90s.
Johnny Carson smoked three/four packs of PallMall (non-filter) a day and true enough a nasty end. Jennings was a surprise because to listen to them you'ld think Brokaw had the lung problem. _________________ "KILL ALL THE LAWYERS!"

My sympathies to the Jennings family. Lung cancer is horrendous way to die. I am happy to hear that Jennings seems to have received all the pain meds he needed to die in peace, often this does not happen because of medical/public fear of heavy duty Schedule II narcotics and people suffer needlessly. |
