Kerry: America doesn't need 'second Republican Party'
8/20/05 – Seattle, Washington/AP:
Quote: | Sen. John F. Kerry told state legislators Friday the Democratic Party doesn't need to undergo an extreme makeover, saying "the last thing America needs is a second Republican Party." <...> "We have to go out and fight for the real issues that make a difference in the lives of the American people and we don't need some great lurch to the right or lurch to the left....”
His ill-fated 2004 presidential campaign was still clearly on Kerry's mind, with an analysis and a broadside against President Bush and congressional Republicans taking up the lion's share of his 35-minute speech to the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee's luncheon.
Kerry said Bush and the Republicans have used the terrorism issue to divert attention from issues that favored the Democrats. ...... |
Yes lurch, you go ahead and tell us about all the “real issues” – yawn -- and woe is you and alas for the democrats having to deal with that cursed Republican “diversionary tactic,” that irritating little terrorism issue that just won’t go away... (the idea of defending America is something that kerry just can’t stand – reducing the fight against our enemies to a political ploy – he’s obviously projecting again, as political motivation for any action is the only thing he understands...). When, oh when will we be done with this blasted traitor-idiot.

A "lurch to the right" is needed to correct the several lurches to the left the party has taken the past 40 years. _________________ "If he believes his 1971 indictment of his country and his fellow veterans was true, then he couldn't possibly be proud of his Vietnam service." |

If they are relying on Kerry to determine which direction the part moves.. they are in deep trouble. He should have hero status at the IHOP and a waffle named in his honor. It would have to look like S@@@ on a Shingle.
I'm trying to think of an issue that the dems are pushing, I really can't find one. I think they lost a lot of support when they showed their true colors in not backing our guys when needed. I've heard some say they back our troops then quickly jump on the Sheehan bandwagon. They do not take a firm stand on an issue like security or support for our troops. I think they feel they must follow the DNC protocols. That keeps their waters muddy. We just can't figure out what they stand for... much like sKerry's waffling. I really wish they would become a valid party. I'd like to see real debate in Congress, not debate by Hollywood know-it-alls carried out by political shills.
It seems to me that the only issues I've heard from the dems are just opposition to what is proposed by the republicans.
Did Clooney ever renounce his US citizenship and move to France? _________________ Hillary and Kerry in '08? Something smells!! |
