This, of course, assumes that those in their early twenties are "grown-up" politically...and one wonders if "wide interests" includes gainful employment.

OK, fine.
38 years later, I now recognize what my boot-camp company commander was eluding to with phrases like "g*d&mmit, girls ... get a move on", and so forth.
Seriously, though, I have to agree with this part of the article:

Was it not Winston Churchill who said if at 20 you are not liberal you have no heart and at 40 not conservative you have no brains.
Really, what this study further proves is the lack of moral character corrupts the individual as time goes on, whereas the person of solid moral character questions the world they live in, yet comes to terms with it through maturity.
These 'intellectuals' without a moral foundation cannot even look at their own evidence with an objective empirical lens.
They are at 40 and 50 years old the whiney child they try so hard to show conservatives as at 10 years old.
Last edit: Much better to be a cry whine baby at 5 years old as opposed to one at 50.
