Lay and Skilling are about to be judged by a jury of their peers. Personally do not care for Ken Lay and think of him as an ogre, yet do buy the defense argument of a run on the money causing the collapse of the company.

Prediction: Ken Lay recieves 5 years and Skilling walks.

Update:

Skilling and Lay found guilty.

You are spot on....but it would have taken a jury of HONEST lawyers to come to the correct verdict....don't know where you'd find a dozen honest lawyers in this country! Wink The ONLY thing Enron should have been found guilty of is hiring TOO MANY lawyers in the first place! Perhaps this will serve as a warning to CEOs and the Military that having lawyers around doesn't necessarily keep you out of trouble!

Ex-CEO and founder convicted on fraud and conspiracy charges in Enron case.
May 25, 2006: 12:26 PM EDT

HOUSTON (CNNMoney.com) - Enron former chief executive Jeffrey Skilling and founder Kenneth Lay were found guilty Thursday of conspiracy and fraud in the granddaddy of all corporate fraud cases.

On the sixth day of deliberations, a jury of eight women and four men convicted the former executives of misleading the public about the true financial health of Enron, whose collapse in late 2001 symbolized the wave of corporate fraud that swept the United States early this decade.

Skilling was found guilty on 19 counts of conspiracy, fraud, false statements and insider trading. He was found not guilty on eight counts of insider trading.

Lay was found guilty on all six counts of conspiracy and fraud.

Interesting you would say this Deuce as my father commented after the verdict that the only way for Skilling and Lay to recieve a fair judgement would be by a 3 or 5 member panel of judges.

Not far off from your thoughts. That is also assuming you can find 3 or 5 honest judges.
