Why, exactly, do we need the MSM and NYT in their current stuck-on-stupid, confabulating, leftist form? I can't for the life of me come up with a good reason.

You can not think of a good reason because there is none. With their decreasing circulation and influence they should be figuring out that they are on the way to "the dung heap of history" but their arrogance blinds them. That is OK because they are squandering vast amounts of resources that could be more effectively used as they destroy themselves.
