Yup, AP must have put an ace team of crack reporters on this one to ferret out the truth. And as for the Globe printing this swill in the first place?

DES MOINES, Iowa --In an Oct. 8 story about Sen. John Kerry criticizing the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, The Associated Press erroneously reported that the same conservatives had formed another group, the Economic Freedom Fund.

Texas homebuilder Bob J. Perry, who helped finance the Swift Boat attacks on Kerry's war record in the 2004 campaign, gave $5 million to the new group but says they have separate founders.
