The challenge in the 2008 general election might be less about Hillary's gender (or any collateral damage caused from a failure by Pelosi) than her core political skills. Could she avoid being Swift-Boated as a lefty? Probably so. Hillary has the thick skin and war-room experience to fend off the GOP demonizers, who are not quite so formidable after their 2006 wipeout.

There's that "swiftboat" again. I thought Hillary's meme was the "vast right-wing conspiracy" against her. For a chuckle, check out the pic's at the article:

What these lefties cannot bring themselves to acknowledge is that "Swiftboat" charges have SUBSTANCE...but HISTORY will drag them, kicking and screaming if necessary, to that stark reality.

Which reminds me...

Marvin Kalb has been researching a supposedly unbiased, academic (cough cough) tome on Kerry and the SVPT. I think we're all aware of conclusions that a thorough and dispassionate treatment of Kerry's career would produce.

I wonder if Mr. Kalb's bias has survived his research...or whether its publication (if ever) is timed with Kerry's coming out party for '08?

Being Marvin Kalb, my money says the conlcusion was reached first, now to make the unbiased, academic (cough cough) tome fit the conclusion.

Let's face it, anything "unbiased, academic or fair" wouldn't leave sKerry looking too good.
