Of course he may be deciding not to run before he decides to run. Never can tell with Lurch.

Perhaps he will try, but I wonder who would have him.
As far as I'm concerned, "Our" long national nightmare appears to be over...now he's a Massachusetts problem.
BRAVO Swift Vets and POWs for Truth. You did it, and you did it PERMANENT!
Now, where's my hammock? |

Great News! But he's going to run for the Senate again. I'll still have to keep my finger on the Change Channel on the TV remote. |

FWIW I do think that Kerry is going to be trying to become the VP running mate of whoever wins the primaries.
So IF that happens
I sure hope that SwiftVets would consider this equivalent to running for President, in their actions. As VP, I think Kerry would be just as harmful to the nation’s psyche. |

Can we safely say sKerry's defeat in the 2004 election and the message sent to him by Viet Nam Veterans, led by the Swift Vets, is now "seared, seared into his memory?" _________________ Clark County Conservative |

IMHO, no way. His bloated and fabulist ego couldn't BEAR the reality and political humiliation...and WHO would want THAT baggage anyway. |

I think Dick Cheney has changed the role of VP significantly to where people hold the office importance.
I think Kerry would not match well with Hillary or Edwards.....but he would match with Barack Obama. It may not happen....lets hope....but Kerry could be on the ticket again. |

Thought I would share what I wrote about Kerry not running at my blog....
Kerry decides against 2008 presidential run
Senator John Kerry has decided not to run for president in 2008. Obviously people have wised up to Kerry’s traitorous past. The top two reasons Kerry is not running are:
1. Sen. John Kerry has struggled to gain support for another presidential run
2. Nearly half of Democrats recently polled didn’t want him as the 2008 nominee
In the 2004 race, Kerry trailed President Bush in the popular vote 51 percent to 48 percent and lost in the Electoral College 286-252. Since the loss, Kerry has struggled to gain support within the Democratic Party for another nomination.
In the latest CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll, 5 percent of Democrats said Kerry was their top choice for the 2008 nomination, and a little more than half — 51 percent — did not want him to be the 2008 nominee.
Kerry trailed Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York, who led the field of Democratic preferences with 34 percent; Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois, with 18 percent; his 2004 running mate, former Sen. John Edwards, who got 15 percent; and former Vice President Al Gore, the party’s 2000 presidential nominee, with 10 percent. The telephone poll was conducted Friday through Sunday and involved 467 registered voters who describe themselves as Democrats or independents who lean to the Democratic Party. The poll’s margin of error was plus or minus 4.5 percentage points.
Kerry was a decorated Navy officer in the Vietnam War (though luminous questions surround how he obtained this status) who became a prominent critic Vietnam along with Jane Fonda. His claim to fame came about by him asking a Senate committee in 1971, "How do you ask a man to be the last man to die for a mistake?"
He voted for the congressional resolution authorizing the 2003 invasion of Iraq, but he now opposes the war. Critics mocked him as a "flip-flopper" during his campaign against Bush.
John E. O’Neill a former Swift Boat Veteran spoke out against Kerry in 2004 forming the Swift Vets and POWs for Truth website and co-authored the now famous book, "Unfit for Command" with Jerome R. Corsi, PH.D.
Of Kerry they wrote, "Kerry’s testimony to the Fulbright Committee was a carefully orchestrated piece of political theater. Fulbright wanted a presentable, young Kennedy-esque face to put on the antiwar effort, and Kerry wanted a national forum from which to launch his climb to political celebrity. Ted Kennedy helped arrange Kerry’s testimony with Senator Fulbright at a private fundraising event held at the home of Democratic senator Philip A. Hart of Michigan." [1] Which by the way O’Neill said Kerry was late for.
On May 4, 2004 in Washington, D.C. at a Swift Boat Veterans for Truth Conference Lt. Col. James Zumwalt, USMC (Retired) said, "Lt. Kerry returned home from the war to make some outrageous statements and allegations. Numerous criminal acts in the violations of the law of war were cited by Kerry, disparaging those who had fought with honor in that conflict." [2]
They also write about the war crimes Kerry does not want investigated and why Kerry does not want you to know about his last conversatation with Al Hubbard.[3]
In light of the afore mentioned one would be remiss not to see the futility in Kerry running for president in 2008 - finally Kerry himself got the message.
