I'm from a small town in Missouri and I'm currently deployed in Afghanistan. We have NO instruments here and I know several people that would like to play and have some fun. I personally, want to learn to play the guitar and I know several other soldiers that do to. There are also a few that are musicians that just don't have any instruments here available.

Does anyone know any way to get some guitars, the needed accessories (strings, pics, ect) or any other equipment sent to Afghanistan?

I can give a mailing address to anyone that can seriously help. The best way to reach me is via my email...

(email address deleted - please private message FtCampbell if interested - we do not post private information about military members on this board - EJ)

anything thoughts or suggestions from anyone will be helpful. Oh, and I have checked with MWR locally, no luck there either.

Thank you for your time and God Bless.

RM

Does anyone have a dollar amount on a decent entry level acoustical guitar? I know with an electronic keyboard it is around 300-400 for touch sensitive keys which is a must for anyone wanting to play something more than Yankee Doodle.

How about these -

Fender beginner pack for 200 dollars

or

Yamaha beginner pack for 180 dollars

To the best of my understanding, in earlier conflicts, harmonicas were popular with combat troops. Small, very lightweight and easy to carry.
