Sheryl Crow gave me an idea of how one might kill two birds with one stone. Really!
In her by now well-publicized remark about confining our use of toilet paper to one sheet to "save the planet" and be more "green," was the genesis of a real idea. Think of all the paper we'd save - with all the concomitment saving of trees (which counteract harmful CO2 emissions, forgetting for the moment how much water it takes to keep them alive), and all the carbon credits we would be due - if we'd all just take a simple step. In short, we need to cancel ALL of our newspaper and magazine subscriptions, and take the pledge to never buy another one at the news stand!!! The Left has not only given us persmission to do so, but have positively planted the seed of encouragement to take such action. Save trees, save transporation costs, save landfill space, etc., etc., etc. Go Green! And by all means encourage your Democrat friends to meet your challenge! (That's one bird)
Now how long do you suppose it would take for all the left-leaning MSM, who positively support Algore and greenie crowd, to become alarmed at the unintended consequences of their campaign? (And that's the second bird) |

And Rosie said the only thing that I've thought funny to come out of her mouth in the last decade or so:

The left leaves us with more 'unitended consequences' laws than mankind can survive...hence amended laws with further unintended consequences.
Now how do we begin the implementation phase of this massive project!

Rosie's face reminds me of that old joke: If my dog's face was that ugly, I'd shave his butt and teach him to walk backwards.
But seriously, we should not only avoid the paper versions of the MSM, we should also not spend time reading them online (to save energy).
After all, if switching from an incandescent bulb to a mercury-filled toxic waste bomb, I mean a compact fluorescent light saves so much energy, how much can we save by not reading CNN online? _________________ DLI 78

ya'll be saying your prayers the big R doesn't get her own show to spew her propaganda out at us...
hey, those idiots on the hill are wasting TONS of paper. They need to quit putting all that pork crap in the bills. Think about how many pages of paper that would save times each of them getting a copy of it (that they don't read).
so, has anyone heard yet about how the limit of TP is going up there on the hill ? in the congressional pottys? Are they issued their allotment each day? or weekly? If they aren't there do they get to 'save up' their unused TP to use when they get back? _________________ Stevie

Speaking of which, did you ever wonder why the show is called The View (singular, not plural)?
Did you ever think why it is that someone's voting for a Presidential candidate because he is black is not racist? Or why voting for a Presidential candidate because she is a woman is not sexist?
And did you notice that with the freeway collapse in Oakland the other day that for only the second time in history, fire melted steel:
Quote: | A stretch of highway near the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge collapsed Sunday after a gasoline tanker crashed and burst into flames, leaving one of the nation’s busiest spans in a state of near paralysis. Officials said traffic could be disrupted for months.
Flames shot 200 feet in the air and the heat was intense enough to melt part of the freeway and cause the collapse, but the truck’s driver walked away from the scene with second-degree burns. No other injuries were reported. |
Or how about the fact that:
Quote: | Mars is being hit by rapid climate change and it is happening so fast that the red planet could lose its southern ice cap, writes Jonathan Leake.
Scientists from Nasa say that Mars has warmed by about 0.5C since the 1970s. This is similar to the warming experienced on Earth over approximately the same period. |
Oh well, maybe the Left can explain it... |

As a shipmate on another forum 'splained it; (tongue-in-cheek)
Quote: | This is all Man's fault. This didn't start until we started doing things to Mars. First we crashed space ships into it, then we landed Rovers to travel around disturbing everything. Remember this, a Mars rover is a 4 wheel drive vehicle, just NASA'a version of an interplanetary SUV. You see, this just proves what ALGore has been saying.... that driving SUV's causes global warming. The proof is on Mars! |
