Damn good question Me#1. Beats the heck out of me why they deserve the validity of statehood.
Part of the overall group of the worldwide terrorist population is all they will ever be as long as they eschew these desires.
If they wanted to be a legitimate state they could be. But that's obviously not what they really want.

They declined land after WWII, it wasn't until Israel was formed and agitation from the arab states that Palestinians began a "push for statehood"
Look at the Middle East. There is a lot of land available for the Palestinians. Carve up the other countries and leave Israel alone.
The problem is this has never and will never be about land or statehood for the Palestinians. The only thing these people care about is killing jews.
Killing every Jew.
