Take a few moments out from the picnics and barbecues to remember our Fallen Heroes. Honoring them and their sacrifice is what this day is really all about.

I hope that you all have a safe and happy weekend. |

Wish I could take a few minutes from the picnics and barbecues. I gotta work this holiday weekend. This all comes from working for a company where no thought is given to schedules and panic sets in when deadlines approach. _________________ Swift Boats - Qui Nhon (12/69-4/70), Cat Lo (4/70-5/70), Vung Tau (5/70-12/71) |

Home Depot's 10% off is a nice gesture. It's the multi-million dollar buyout they gave their previous CEO that really bothers me. |

AMOS,
I agree...personally I'd have to be sold to believe that Home Depot got it's money's worth on Nardelli's $33million lump sum payout. But see yesterday's news...
Langone HD Annual meeting comments
Langone, the founding director clearly takes the blame for that, not Nardelli himself. And the directors say he was 'paid fairly'...for fixing the Issues that Home Depot needed fixed when they hired him. At the time, Nardelli was a coup for Home Depot, as one of the few 'best and brightest' GE had to offer, once Immelt took over from Welch at GE. As for me, if he went thru the Welch grooming/training program he was probably worth it! (again, at the time, relative to the other search candidates, without 20-20 hindsight, ie. it was GE's Loss, HD's Gain). I'm betting on the floor of the Housing Slump here, and growth in the future to take care of HD for a long time to come.
Again, Happy Memorial Day

To all that served and to all that paid the ultimate price- I thank you from the bottom of my heart. A man is never dead if he is remembered.. My father died 39 years ago, but I think of him every day, and pray to those serving now. My respects.. |

That line was worth the trip. |
