Latest unbelieveable story from Little Green Footballs on the NYT:

The New York Times airs a commercial for Iraqi terrorists. Yes, really.
You have to see it to believe it: Op-Ed: Know Thine Enemy. |
and a very apt comment from Zombie of Zombietime (www.zombietime.com), the site that parades pictures of the nutcases such as at the recent Folsom St. Fair and Code Pink demonstration:
Zombie wrote: | It's as if these filmmakers are propagandists for the Islamists. Not even "as if" -- they are propagandists for the Islamists. I've never seen anything like it. A cross between Leni Reifenstahl and Vidkun Quisling.
These people aren't even traitors to America. They are traitors to human decency. |
Sickening, just sickening. The NYT promotes people butchering Iraqi civilians and killing American soldiers. Truly they cannot sink any lower.

This is taking Freedom of the Press too far. Surely the founding fathers never intended for their freedom to extend to promoting our enemies while ignoring and opposing our own Troops.
Although a champion of freedom of the press, later in his life Thomas Jefferson said, "I deplore... the putrid state into which our newspapers have passed and the malignity, the vulgarity, and mendacious spirit of those who write for them... These ordures are rapidly depraving the public taste and lessening its relish for sound food. As vehicles of information and a curb on our funtionaries, they have rendered themselves useless by forfeiting all title to belief... This has, in a great degree, been produced by the violence and malignity of party spirit." --Thomas Jefferson to Walter Jones, 1814.
