Wesley Clark assails McCain's Military credentials?

We should remember this.

Quote:
Wesley Clark’s command at Fort Hood “lent” 17 pieces of armor and 15 active service personnel under his command to the Waco Branch Davidian operation. It is absolute fact that the military equipment used by the government at Waco came from Fort Hood and Clark’s command.

The only issue debated by experts is whether Clark was at Waco in person to help direct the assault against the church compound in a scene remarkably similar to the incineration of villagers in a church by the British in Mel Gibson’s movie “The Patriot.”

What happened at Waco was the death, mostly by fire, of at least 82 men, women and children, including two babies who died after being “fire aborted” from the dying bodies of their pregnant mothers.

Planning for this final assault involved a meeting between Clinton Attorney General Janet Reno and two military officers who developed the tactical plan used but who have never been identified.

It does not matter whether Clark was identified as being "directly involved", because as commander of the base at the time, he was involved.

Wesley Clark showed his lack of leadership by not taking responsibility for this action.

Psssst, his lack of leadership is what caused Clinton to fire Clark. Clark is the essence of a loose cannon. Why is anyone giving him any measure of credibility? Present company excepted.

In his gentlemanly fashion, Fred Thompson ZINGS Clark.
Quote:
In light of our country’s history and what likely lies ahead, personal honor, courage and integrity are the most important qualifications for a President. I am disappointed that Wes Clark chose to allow himself to be used this way. He really shouldn’t have. It too easily invokes the image of a bantam rooster trying to belittle an American eagle.

I believe what we're seeing here is an attempt by still shell-shocked democrat strategists to apply a lesson they "think" they learned from campaign '04. How many times have you heard them credit Kerry's loss to the masterful (cough) "Rovian" strategy of attacking a candidate's supposed "strength"? What they cannot bear to bring themselves to understand (self-deprecating analysis not being their strong suit) is that such an "attack" can only be successful (and not, in fact, loaded with negative consequence) if it is imbued to its core with credibility and truth.

While imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, faux-"swiftboating" in the world of politics is "brinksmanship" of the most dangerous kind...and the democratic fleet has, almost undoubtedly with Obama's blessing, already left port.

Ditto on the "well said" #1.

And then there's Fred Thompson, who really knows how to turn a phrase. Laughing

Great 4th of July pic, #1......

bantam rooster trying to belittle an American eagle.
faux swiftboating

as usual you guys have given me a weekend full of liberal baiting ammo!
Waiting to see if Obama throws the bantam rooster under the bus, or if the bantam rooster throws himself under the bus......either is acceptable.
