The campaign for 2008 began immediately after the election of 2004. I try to stay on top of things, to keep up, to be informed, but this is getting ridiculous! Now, I'm suffering burnout, sick to death of all of the damn politics, and the MSM ignoring the lies.
The trouble with that is that it's all too important to ignore. I long for the days when politics didn't control the media as it now does. You cannot watch a newscast without getting your daily does of partisanship.
I know that Obama is a socialist, and I suspect that he's a Communist. How the hell did we ever get into a situation like this anyway? I have my opinion, and I think that a lot of it got started when we stopped mandatory service for all able bodied men.

That's backwards. Media controls politics; the MSM has become a political party of leftists itself.

Western peoples did nothing as the left infiltrated the media, academia, and government as a force multiplying strategy. There was likely also support from the old Soviet Union in its attempts to subvert our culture.
The Soviet Union is gone, but the sickness they unleashed in our body politic continues and is growing.
The major cause of the economic crisis was leftism - mortgages for everyone - see this video -- and the implosion is not over yet. That was pretty bad, but it's going to take even more pain before people get a clue and leftism gets out of favor with enough people that they will rise up and crush it, MSM's coverups notwithstanding.
Make no mistake about it - we are fighting a cultural war that makes the 1960's look like a high school play.
I believe it will take leftist tactics to win this war.
I, for one, would like to see mass protests by conservatives at the NYT building of a magnitude to shut it down for a few days. That would start making a point.

We were trained to take out the enemy with a shot to the brain or to the heart. How do we do that when this enemy has neither a heart nor a brain? Are we soon to be living in the land of Oz?
They took over the hearts and minds of generations of our people beginning with the children and stuck us with the bill. I doubt we have enough time or enough money to use that same tactic to reverse the outcome. Maybe we should try changing minds one person at a time, starting with our own family..my two cents worth. |

IMHO...the American people lost it's fight. People no longer care about their country, their neighbors or their family. It is more about the "things" we can acquire than personal responsbility.
I urge people to call or write their congress (but people like me who are stuck with Obama and Durbin do but get no response) but no one really takes the time because they do not feel it is worth the effort.
We would rather vote for a party than for a person. We would rather let someone else do all the hard work because we are too lazy. American's (the majority) just do not care about the values our parents taught us.
Those of us who served still feel that this country IS still the greatest country on the planet, but there are too many out there who do not. Who would not fight for her; who will not fight for her and would never fight for her.
We lost what God, Honor and Country mean.

sadly Theresa I think you are correct.
so many too bzy with their 'stuff' (videos, gadgets etc), vacations, 2nd homes, sports ...
and on another board a IL resident says the same thing about Obama and his office.
