That’s what the Boston Herald is reporting today.
That makes no sense to me at all. Sure, he’s guaranteed to be replaced by a Democrat, but when has Sen. Kerry shown any leadership on any international issue? Has anyone ever thought “Gee, I think we could really solve this problem in [insert name]-istan if only John Kerry would get involved?”
On foreign-policy issues, Sen. Kerry’s record of getting nearly everything wrong is almost as bad as Joe Biden’s. Are Americans really clamoring for the Kerry foreign policy?
As a resident of Massachusetts, I’d be more than happy to see him go, but I don’t get the upside for an Obama administration at all.

If Lurch becomes Secretary of State maybe he can visit some Hell Hole and become a hostage or better. _________________ Swift Boats - Qui Nhon (12/69-4/70), Cat Lo (4/70-5/70), Vung Tau (5/70-12/71) |

I kinda have a hunch that Lurch may become Commander of the " Civilian national security force"
man he can have a nice hat with lots of scrambled eggs on it.
Plus he would have a chance for lots more medals.
He can assign some of his wintersoldiers buddies, nice postions.
Plus might have strong powers of arrest, he can get after some people who have been mean to him..lol *W* _________________ Leeman

WASHINGTON -- Democratic officials said Thursday that Barack Obama's fellow Chicagoan Rahm Emanuel has agreed to be White House chief of staff.
<snip>
The day after the election there already was jockeying for Cabinet appointments.
Several Democrats said Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts, who won a new six-year term on Tuesday, was angling for secretary of state. They spoke on condition of anonymity, saying they were not authorized to discuss any private conversations.
Kerry's spokeswoman, Brigid O'Rourke, disputed the reports. "It's not true. It's ridiculous," she said.

...and Taranto makes note...

The Boston Herald reports on a Republican effort to steal the election from Barack Obama:
Conservative sports-radio duo John Dennis and Gerry Callahan were in hot water with state officials yesterday after jokingly telling listeners that the election had been postponed and Democrats should cast their votes today.
"Obviously it was a joke and I think most listeners understood it was a joke," Callahan said yesterday.
Brian McNiff, spokesman for Secretary of State William Galvin, fired off an e-mail to the WEEI-AM (850) pair during yesterday's morning show telling them they were doing a "disservice" to Bay State voters. . . .
WEEI program director Jason Wolfe said in a statement that Dennis and Callahan were "obviously joking." That explains why Barack Obama carried Massachusetts by only 26%--as narrow a margin as John Kerry's* four years earlier.
Anyway, the good news is we don't have to worry about shenanigans like this in 2012. By then President Obama will have reinstated the so-called Fairness Doctrine, so that radio hosts will have to tell Republicans to vote on the wrong day too for balance.
* Oooh, oooh, I wanna be secretary of state! Pick me, Barack! Me! Over here! I have the hat!

I seriously doubt Kerry would last as long as Powell. Probably cause as much or more damage than Albright in that time but at least it could be repaired. _________________ Why ask? Because it needs asking. |

GoophyDog, I hope you're right, but all the international pots are boiling a lot higher now than when Halfbright was stirring them, and Obama is no Bush...he's not even a Clinton. One false Kerry "nuance", and the whole world could be aflame, the middle east for sure. |

Obama's vetting team got a look at the complete Form 180 and said, "Well, so much for that, looks like the Swiftvets were right all along." |

That's open for discussion. Do you really think that Lurch would sign the 180 for Obama, or that Obama would give him the job unless he saw the 180? IMO, no is the correct answer for each question, but then WTH do I know? _________________ No whiners! |
