Excellent point, #1. They dug like gophers for Bush's records and even tried to fake some, but not a peep when Kerry stonewalled and eventually released redacted, edited, summaries. Same for the current "crisis". Congress held a formal investigation into McCain's birth certificate, so he simply published his long form and ended the controversy. As we know, it is still available today. They again dug like gophers into anything they could find on Palin, but not only is Obama's birth certificate sealed, so are all his records from Kindergarten through years after graduation from law school and all his professional writings and even his passports, which could show what nationality he claimed when he traveled to Pakistan at a time when AMERICANS were denied passports to travel there. Only the books ghostwritten for him by William Ayers are freely available. The "Certification of Live Birth" (COLB) now known to be a forgery is the only "proof" the Obamedia and his comrades in Congress need to "prove" he is a natural born American. If he ever claimed dual citizenship, he is by law NOT a natural born American. By the way, his sister Maya, who was indisputably born in Indonesia, also has a Hawaiian COLB. How did she get hers? Also, the Obama COLB lists his father's "race" as "AFRICAN". "African" is not only NOT a race, it is not even a proper designation of nation of origin since Africa is a CONTINENT. "American" is also used as a pseudo-nationality, but in any case, neither is acceptable as a designator of race since many races comprise the "Africans" and the "Americans". Does YOUR birth certificate list your race as "AMERICAN"? I doubt it. It most likely lists one of the accepted races, and in 1961, his would have listed "NEGRO" or "MIXED NEGRO CAUCASIAN". There is also Irish blood and Arab blood, so if they really wanted to use the convoluted reasoning that the forger used on Obama's posted COLB, it should list his race as "AFRICAN/ARAB/IRISH/AMERICAN".

Like I asked before, does YOUR birth certificate list your race as "AMERICAN"? It should also list the hospital where you were born and the doctor who delivered you.

"Birthers"? No, just more and more people wanting to know the TRUTH, whatever it is.

It appears that some of those seeking the release of Obama's sealed records have a different slant on the plethera of fraudulent birth certificates surfacing these days. One theory is that at least one may have been created by or for Obama himself when he applied to Occidental College...as a FOREIGN EXCHANGE STUDENT! ...and a case has been filed to have the FBI and DOJ investigate the source of at least one of the suspect birth certificates with that premise in mind. This could be a "smoking gun" no one thought about in the "birther" camp, but it would be just as valuable. What would happen if it is proven that Obama fraudulently applied for and was accepted at Occidental College, and all that has accrued to him as a result of the educational credentials he received? Would he be stripped of any or all of his credentials, and could he be arrested and sent to prison....or has the statute of limitations expired? Prosecution may no longer be an option, but stripping him of his fraudulently-obtained credentials is still in play...look at all the "phony soldiers" and other public figures who have been caught and stripped of those credentials and honors......drip, drip, drip....

...but the nighmare scenario that followed would be a Constitutional crisis of monumental proportions...would impeachment hearings be in order? How would the ascention to POTUS be handled? Would there be riots?

In the case of a president found not legally eligible to hold the office after an election I believe that the election has to be declared null and void and a new election has to be held.
Seems I remember hearing that in civic class. But that was many years ago.
