Just where does this president get off pushing one American city to house the Olympics at the expense of any other city which may want to put in a bid.
I thought the job of promoting a city for hosting the Olympics was the job of officials of that particular city. _________________ Left and Wrong are the opposite of Right! |

The cynic in me says this trip is cover for laying some conspiratorial groundwork for the upcoming Kyoto II in Copenhagen.
In a related note to juice up his own city's bid, the Tokyo governor gold medals in buffoonery with some global warmist hyperbole of Olympic proportion ...

COPENHAGEN, Sept 30 (Reuters) - Tokyo governor Shintaro Ishihara warned on Wednesday the 2016 Olympics could be the last Games, with global warming an immediate threat to mankind.
Tokyo is bidding to host the 2016 summer Olympics with Chicago, Rio de Janeiro and Madrid also in the running. The International Olympic Committee will elect the winning candidate during its session on Oct. 2 in the Danish capital.
"It could be that the 2016 Games are the last Olympics in the history of mankind," Ishihara told reporters at a Tokyo 2016 press event ahead of the vote.
"Global warming is getting worse. We have to come up with measures without which Olympic Games could not last long.

What a coincidence, isn't "Tokyo Governor Shintaro Ishihara" the same guy whose world famous "Mei Dung" restaurant got closed down by the health department for "numerous food safety violations"???....maybe, I'm thinking of someone else....
...on the conspiracy page, some are saying that Obama was tipped off that Chicago won, and he is going over so he can claim credit for swaying the decision with his "charm" when they make the final announcement....I thought he was too busy trying to ram Socialist Universal Healthcare down our throats to make the trip...at least that's what he said a week or so ago...and too busy to meet with Gen. McChrystal more than ONCE this entire year...I guess priorities change.... |

Obama is too caught up in his celebrity to actually do the job of president. _________________ Swift Boats - Qui Nhon (12/69-4/70), Cat Lo (4/70-5/70), Vung Tau (5/70-12/71) |

He doesn't even understand what the job is. He's a "community organizer", he figures he can "organize" the entire planet like they did Chicago.
This guy is failing in epic proportions. |

Do they have an Olympic event for teenage thugs beating teenage honor students to death? Chicago could enter a thousand teams in that event. How about Freestyle Corruption? Gold Medal is assured for Chicago team. |

If Gen. McChrystal decides to resign, a distinct possibility considering Obama's waffling over the good general's recommendations, it will be a blow that even Obama may not recover from. I don't believe that Gen. McChrystal will be willing to lead his troops to a certain defeat by using half measures.
This guy could wind up replacing Carter as the worst President in memory. Not an easy task! _________________ No whiners! |

Who says he wasn't rooting for Brazil or ANYONE but America? Don't put it past him to go over and intentionally undermine the bid. He hates America more than he feels any obligation to his cronies in Chicago, and another slap in the face for America just increases his standing with his thug dictator buddies. Even if he didn't overtly throw the bid, he had to know his arrogance at making such a public show of "soliciting" (OK, PIMPING) for Chicago and all the media "it's in the bag" rhetoric would be offensive to the IOC. They had to reject Chicago if for no other reason than their own self respect. |
