One part of me is encouraged by the apparent level of desperation to which this loathsome megalomaniac and his acolytes have descended. The other part...well...in deference to my blood pressure, I'll decline comment...

Ahead of Copenhagen summit, former US vice-president says 'non-violent lawbreaking' is legitimate in persuading governments to cut emissions

Al Gore has sought to inject fresh momentum into the Copenhagen build-up, saying he is certain Barack Obama will attend and predicting a rise in civil disobedience against fossil-fuel polluters unless drastic action is taken over global warming.
Amid increasing incidents of climate protesters disrupting the operations of fossil-fuel industries and airports in Britain and elsewhere, Gore suggests the scale of the emergency means non-violent lawbreaking is justified. "Civil disobedience has an honourable history, and when the urgency and moral clarity cross a certain threshold, then I think that civil disobedience is quite understandable, and it has a role to play," he says. "And I expect that it will increase, no question about it."

The ilk of Al Gore leaves me speechless at times, utterly amazed at others.
Civil unrest if acceptable if it suits their pre-conceived notions of socialism, but the actions of many in confronting politicians back in August at town halls wasn't, it was readily condemned. _________________ Clark County Conservative |

It's called "selective indignation"....but we know it as "elitism". They are the epitome of hypocrisy.
"But Master Gore, the people are starving!"

I wouldn't read a lot into this.
ahead of COP 15 (conference of parties)
in Copenhagen, the nutcase greenies will say
anything, with the intention
to make things seem more
urgent than they are. |

The desperation of the warmers in the face of sound refutation of their nutty theories is spreading to all quarters. From James Hansen's allusion to "death trains" of coal to calls to try skeptics as traitors, the shrillness of their rage at losing this argument is rising.
An outfit called Psychologists for Social Responsibility has sent a letter to congresscritters saying in part (emphasis mine):
Quote: | ... Many Americans are already anxious about what climate change portends. The greater risk is that millions of people will develop severe and persistent anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, aggression, and other troubled behavior if the U.S. does not quickly lead the way to dramatically reduce carbon emissions.
Without such action, the impact of heat waves, extreme storms and floods, droughts and water shortages, food production problems, lessened air quality, sea level rise, and displacement from homes and communities is likely to pose significant mental-health challenges to millions of Americans and billions of others worldwide. The resulting stress and increase in mental illness would, in turn, be likely to harm interpersonal relationships, make people less able to work constructively or do well in school, and ultimately injure the day-to-day functioning of our society and our economy. ... |
.... Which is exactly what Gore had in mind in issuing his error-ridden slide show/movie. If, indeed, some of these injuries are sustained by people, lawsuits against the Ilk would be most appropriate.
