Obama speech to soldiers met with silence
The Daily Caller 08/31/2012
http://dailycaller.com/2012/08/31/obama-speech-to-soldiers-met-with-silence/#ixzz25FKR0Nk0
Quote: | President Barack Obama was greeted with fleeting applause and extended periods of silence as he offered profuse praise to soldiers and their families during an Aug. 31 speech in Fort Bliss, Texas.
His praise for the soldiers — and for his own national-security policies — won cheers from only a small proportion of the soldiers and families in the cavernous aircraft-hangar.
The audience remains quiet even when the commander-in-chief thanked the soldiers’ families, and cited the 198 deaths of their comrades in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The audience’s reaction was so flat that the president tried twice to elicit a reaction from the crowd.
“Hey, I hear you,” he said amid silence.
The selected soldiers who were arrayed behind the president sat quietly throughout the speech.
CNN and MSNBC ended their coverage of the speech before it was half-over.

Nothing really new here... we've seen plenty of videos contrasting the difference between the reception troops gave Bush vs OBama
They've still got his number... _________________ .

And we've still got the media's number. Same ol', same ol' advocacy of the socialist/radical left candidate.

If anyone had any doubts about the liberal agenda, watching the Democratic convention should remove them. _________________ No whiners! |

Hahahaha! Even my cast iron stomach isn't strong enough to do that!
I did watch Cardinal Dolan's benediction on fb, and was he ever BOLD!
Praying for the unborn and the right to life right there in the middle of Abortion Central.
Dear Lord, give me that kind of courage and backbone! _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

I too was very impressed with Cardinal Dolan's prayer.
It isn't like watching that mess, commonly referred to as the Democratic Convention, was on mt list of things to do, but, my wife wanted to watch it. It turned out to give her a new look into just what liberals are, so it wasn't a waste of time. _________________ No whiners! |

The thought of having to watch that Clown and Condom Circus nearly buckled my knees. Then the AUDACITY of getting TWO emails from "Barack", one just before he went on and then one after he finished his "speech" was too much. I did have some fun with them, though.
In the first one he asked for a $5 donation, so I sent him back a reply that if he would carry my bags in from the car, I would give him a Fiver...I shared it with Scott Swett and Wey Symmes, and Scott sent back a note that said I should have added, "and keep the Change".
Below is the second one I got, after the speech, and my response.
I found this very personal plea in my SPAM folder:
[insert first name here],
Speaking to you and millions of other Americans last night was an honor.
But speeches don't win elections.
You do.
We set a goal of 600,000 grassroots donations for convention week -- we need just 55,000 more by midnight tonight.
Chip in $5 or more now and support this campaign in the time we've got left:
[link to donate was here]
Fired up, ready to go.
Barack
...so I sent back this reply:
Just like your speeches, you used too many words, and most of them are lies. You only had one word that interested me:

Some blogger "tweeted" after Obama's speech that "for the first time since Obama got elected he has finally given me HOPE...hope that he will be defeated in November."

We need "Like" buttons here, like facebook. I have the same kind of hope, myself, TEWS.
zinfella - we knew what you meant. We will all suffer a bit if we can bring someone to a clearer understanding of our dire situation, won't we? _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

Strange, I didn't hear a word about "Green on Blue" killings accounting for most of the killings of Americans in Afghanistan...that's where the Afghan "Security Forces" we are training turn their AMERICAN-FURNISHED guns on their trainers and kill them. I thought Joe Biden, The Intellect of the Democratic Party, said Afghanistan was the "good" war. Must have been shopping and saw an "Afghan" he wanted to buy to cover his plugged hair.
Zin, just think of all the rewards you are accumulating in Heaven for your great personal sacrifice...and then have another beer to wash the images of that Clown and Condom Circus out of your memory.
By the way, did "ex-Governess" Grandholm finish off her schtick with a Pole Dance? I couldn't watch it. _________________ Find the perfect babysitter, petsitter, or tutor -- today! |

Did that last night. Took the wife out for some hot enough to remove paint Mexican food, and washed it down with some cold beer. I didn't watch Granholm, Biden or Obama, even a martyr has limits! _________________ No whiners! |

I'm with you on that "limits" on martyrdom. My wife and her mother and my son and my daughter and all the grandkids are having a wonderful time at the Kansas State Fair while I stay home cleaning cat litterboxes and letting their dogs out since they will be gone until 0-dark-30 tonight. Ah, the humble and sacrificing life of a martyr...think I'll have a little cheese with this Whine. _________________ Find the perfect babysitter, petsitter, or tutor -- today! |
