|
|
Quote: | Sen. John Kerry has the perfect audition piece for the secretary of state job he appears to covet — the long-stalled Law of the Sea treaty.
He’s come armed with a throng of industry backers and pleas from the country’s top officials. But a cadre of conservatives remains determined to sink it.
The international treaty, which governs use of the world’s oceans and affects everyone from shippers to telecom companies, has withered in the Senate for almost two decades. If Kerry fails to slip it through this session, the Foreign Relations Committee chairman doesn’t just miss out on the lead role. He loses treaty supporter and Foreign Relations Committee ranking member Dick Lugar (R-Ind.), along with other willing moderates.
So he’s positioning the vote for the lame-duck session, when it stands the best chance. And with Congress at an impasse, nothing will look better than a Senate treaty that doesn’t need House support. |

Quote: | The latest attempt was spearheaded by Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman John Kerry (D-Mass.), who scheduled a series of hearings on the issue over the past three months. And on Monday, a Kerry spokeswoman signaled the senator still plans to push for ratification – but not until after the Nov. 3 elections.

Kerry Campaign Eats ‘Hate Chicken’ (tempted to add one word to this title but didn't out of respect for the decorum of the forum......)

Former Presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry’s (D., Mass.) fundraising has plummeted, but that has not stopped him from indulging in lavish spending at Chick-fil-A.
Kerry’s campaign spent more than $600 at a Virginia Chick-fil-A just four months before Boston Mayor Tom Menino threatened to block the “hateful” eatery for its Christian views on marriage.
A Herald Truth Squad review shows Kerry has only $1.5 million left in his campaign account, an alarmingly low total for a powerful and nationally known incumbent who faces re-election in two years.
The Massachusetts Democrat’s longtime chief of staff, David Wade, meanwhile, reported earning a whopping $303,000 in 2011, including $206,000 in payments from Kerry’s campaign and leadership PAC and a $97,000 taxpayer-funded Senate salary.
Wade’s total salary puts him well above any member of Congress, including Speaker of the House John Boehner, the highest paid lawmaker at $223,500.
Kerry is on Barack Obama’s shortlist to succeed Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State, leading the Boston Herald to speculate that he is focused more on the 2012 presidential election than his own campaign. He is not up for re-election until 2014. |

I've started noticing more and more of "them" trying to slip in a little "Thomas Paine" association by using "WinterSoldier" as part of their screen names and then denying any knowledge of the Kerry/VVAW usage of that Kerry-coined perverted Thomas Paine's "Summer Soldier, Sunshine Patriot" verbiage if they're called out on it. I don't know who they are trying to fool or what they are up to, but they always attack Conservatives and Conservative principles, so maybe they really are just run of the mill Leftists thinking they are being cute. Here is a "blast from the past" warning from Benjamin Franklin for them in any case:
Quote: | "I will not enter into any discussion of your principles, though you seem to desire it. At present I shall only give you my opinion, that, though your reasonings are subtile (crafty and cunning) and may prevail with some readers, you will not succeed so as to change the general sentiments of mankind on that subject, and the consequence of printing this piece will be, a great deal of odium drawn upon yourself, mischief to you, and no benefit to others. He that spits against the wind, spits in his own face." |
~ Reply from Benjamin Franklin to Thomas Paine upon Paine's request for Franklin to publish one of Paine's pamphlets in which Paine disputed the existence of a specific "Providence", aka, a personal God. Franklin's point carries the same warning today. I sincerely hope these New Winter Soldiers are paying attention. _________________ Find the perfect babysitter, petsitter, or tutor -- today! |

John Kerry, Still "Unfit for ANY Duty"
....In looking for a scapegoat to take the fall for Obama's dismal debate performance in his first head-to-head meeting with Romney, they blame the President's team, first of all, for not preparing him to meet the challenge of an aggressive Mitt Romney. They say that nobody in the room challenged him, including the guy that he was debating with, John Kerry, because, as they say, Kerry wants to be Secretary of State, so he's not going to get in the President's face.
If he's too much of a COWARD to even pretend to stand up to his debate opponent, a man he shouldn't fear in the least, how strong would he be dealing with foreign leaders who would happily take him to the cleaners?
Obama and Kerry, two hapless, inept, cowardly liars who are BOTH "Unfit for ANY Duty". _________________ Find the perfect babysitter, petsitter, or tutor -- today! |
