On August 6, 2004, FactCheck.org published an analysis of some "facts" at issue inre Swiftvets vs. Kerry entitled "Republican-funded Group Attacks Kerry's War Record". At the conclusion of that analysis, FactCheck.org asserted the following...

At this point, 35 years later and half a world away, we see no way to resolve which of these versions of reality is closer to the truth.


Oft cited by Swiftvet opposition as some Rosetta Stone of 'truth" as to the comparative veracity of the Swiftvets vs. John Kerry, I had come to the conclusion that few (if any) were likely to have even read (much less understood) the import and ramifications of that final, summary statement...which, as stated, allows for the possibility that the Swiftvets' veracity was superior to Kerry's.

Some internet serendipity recently brought me to FactCheck.org (which I generally do not frequent) and I thought I'd revisit that article...only to find that it has apparently been "offed" in FactCheck's archive. Looking into their archive a bit further, archives from 2004-2007 are scant.

Fortunately for history's sake, the Internet Archive is still in fine fettle.

This isn't the only record of Kerry's military service that has been edited, expunged, or just plain deleted....and may not be the last. We live in lawless times.

Should the need arise, I think many of us have files saved, including the fact-check articles from then.

Somehow I missed this article, but have it copied now
