John O'Neill came across calm and organized, very well stated. The Democrat rebutter, Jeh Johnson, couldn't do anything but repeat the party line.
O'Neill did a great job, in spite of Colmes trying to trip him up several times.
O'Reilly has Rassman on and I thought he treated him with kid gloves. He did get him to admit that Kerry could have screwed up at other times besides when he rescued Rassman. Fox also listed Rassman as having served with Kerry. LOL, one hitchhike and he served with Kerry? But, the 60 O'Neill interviewed didn't? _________________ Clark County Conservative |

I missed O'Neill, but I saw the Dem hack lawyer again and you're right -- same old, same old party line. Nothing new. |

Will Jeh Johnson ever address the questions instead of "sidestepping" them? For the love of all things pure? |

John O'Neill did an excellent job on Hannity and Colmes tonight (Tuesday). The guy from the John Kerry campaign tried to salvage things and did a decent job, the best that anyone possibly could have done under the circumstances, I suppose. But this type of back and forth is going to lay the hurt on the Kerry-Edwards ticket.
Just like John Edwards said: "If you have any doubts..... spend 3 minutes with the men who served with John Kerry."
That's happening and the Kerry campaign ain't happy about it! |

I also believe John did very well but the interview prompts me to ask those in the know several questions.
John stated nobody awarded Kerry the Purple Hearts, they were just applied for. What were the authority levels for approving them. Was there no chain of command? No enforcement of the enemy action requisite through witness statements or wound severity, etc.? I still am completely mystified how he got that first one and if it smells to the EXPERTS think it should be one of the issues for focus as it is among a few which demonstrate the lack of "Kerryter".
I noted John didn't jump on the Lehman signature issue. I sense an ambush coming downriver.
Of course the DEM lawyer thinks we should MOVE ON regarding Kerry's possible atrocities while at the same time celebrating his "heroism". _________________ Retired USN Capt.; Market Time vicinity ChuLai 6/67-2/68; Maddox 8/64 Tonkin Gulf; NGFS I Corps 6-12/65; Saigon evac. 4/75. |

I KNEW O'Neill would be the guy to put in the hot seat.
He put Kerry in his place way back when on the Cavett show and he still has what it takes.
Colmes was speechless until the Kerry mouthpiece came on.
Keep O'Neill out there and the major networks will be unable to ignore the story much longer.
And keep Carl Cameron out there waiting for that answer on Cambodia. |

Yeah, Karl Cameron and Brit Hume milked that "still waiting for a response from the Kerry camp" thing for all it was worth. |

How can the media not cover John O'Neill. This is a rematch of the Kerry-O'Neill debate from 1971. Sure, the media can blather about a "30 year grudge." And I disagree with that interpretation. But the media has to admit that it is news!!!
The media won't be able to keep this quiet (much as they would like to) for much longer. And Kerry will be toast! |

However, I thought he might do well after reading his transcript from all those years ago, on the Dick Cavett show. I assume this is the same John O'Neill, anyway, if I am wrong then I apologize... |
You bet this is the SAME John O'Neill!!. When you read the transcript of that Cavett debate you really miss out on the physicality of O'Neill's courage, brilliance, anger, disgust towards and eye contact with John Kerry who can only sarcastically and feebly respond -- O'Neill can chew him up for breakfast, not only because he has the capacity to do so, but also because he is RIGHT and he is telling the truth -- and therein lies his power.
I saw the actual broadcast of that debate in '71 -- and a few months ago, C-Span re-ran it... sorry you missed it. I have asked C-Span to run it again, but they said it is owned by NBC and to contact them. Also the Senate 1971 testimony loses its flavor when read because you don't get to feel the flat affected inflection in Kerry's voice. There is an audio of this and was also run on C-Span and should be available somewhere?
Since the 5/4/04 Swift Vet Press Conference I have been waiting for this night and the opening shot across the bow with the first major TV appearance of John O'Neill. The thing I recall about that long-ago debate is the look in O'Neill's eyes -- something like steel. He's still got it and he's not backing down. --- and neither should we. Hang in there everybody!!
(I sent the $$ I could and I hope everyone does because they are going to need it!!) |

How about a Pay Per View event...say about $40. It would be better than the recent Mike Tyson fiasco. _________________ kerry returned to the United States on July 22, 1971, held a press conference publicly calling on President Nixon... for the surrender of the United States to North Vietnam. |
