This is from Kerry's appearance on Dick Cavett:
The fact of the matter is that the members of Coastal Division 11 and Coastal Division 13 when I was in Vietnam were fighting the policy very, very hard, to the point that many of the members were refusing to carry out orders on some of their missions; to the point where the crews started to in fact mutiny, say, "I would not go back on the rivers again;" the point where my commanding officer was relieved of duty because he pressed our objections to what we were doing with the captain in command of the entire operation.
MR. CAVETT: The man above you was relieved of duty?
MR. KERRY: That is correct. The man above me was finally relieved of duty.
To the point that we had a continual rotation going on of new officers coming from the divisions that were not in this to try and replenish our spirit.
---
My questions: Was his CO really relieved of duty? If so, was it for the reason stated? Was there such a continual rotation of officers? Was there such mutiny? Or is this all typical BS? |

There has never been any evidence brought out that any CO was relieved for cause as Kerry stated in that show.
There has never been any evidence that many of the members were refusing to carry out orders on some of their missions, or that any of the members "mutinied" and refused to go back into the rivers. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

o All Division COs where Kerry served completed their tours: 12 months
o Crews and boats were transferred between divisions due to seasonal
weather conditions (monsoons) or for crew rest. The An Thoi and Cat Lo
home bases were too far away from some areas, so crews and boats
were temporarily sent to, and operated from, large ships such as LSTs
that were stationed just off the tip of the Ca Mau peninsula.
....... .......
o Total figment of Kerry's furtile imagination.
o YES
PS: Note the location of Sa Dec where Kerry spent Christmas in 1968

Thanks, both, for clearing that up.
Maybe his lie about his CO should be publicized in addition to the Cambodia story. |

I HOPE this has gone into some list of "Kerry's Debunked Lies" that have not YET been given media exposure. |

rbshirley,
The only thing missing from that lovely map is the thingie that shows the scale. Any chance of getting one with the scale?
---------
Someone posted a message yesterday or the day before that linked to a lib site, and in that thread was a link to another site (both blogs, I think) and the second site had a map that the libbies were salivating over because it would PROVE that Kerry was really in Cambodia Christmas 1968. Unfortunately, I don't remember the thread and don't remember key words to use to search for it.
I'd love to be a fly on the wall in that discussion right now, since the Kerry campaign is back-pedaling on the Cambodia thing. |
