...the Democrats who comprise ~45% of the "decided" voters DO NOT care about John Kerry's past, his voting record, his war record, his unpatriotic actions upon returning from 'Nam - none of these issues matter! The Democrats want the presidency back, period, even if his last name were Mussolini or Franco, they'd vote for either because neither last name is Bush.
The remaining 45% of "decided" voters will vote for Bush because of the issues mentioned above, leaving ~10% undecided.
Personally, I'm not sure what these 10% are looking for in their next President; although, I'm sure the political pollsters have a good idea.
It's sad when the President of the U.S. is chosen by voters against the incumbent rather than voting for the man/woman based on what they stand for.
The Democrats have no problem cozying up to Moore's, generally accepted as being propaganda, film F-9/11; however, let honorable men step forward who served with Kerry, making unflattering comments, and the Democrats go into attack mode with their lawyers again crying foul, libel, etc., etc. What a bunch of fickle f...s.<people>.
How in the world can the "undecided" be undecided???????

(Memo: I previously posted this on another forum, to which I'm a member, and was reminded I was preaching to the choir. )

Steve,

You're preaching to the choir here, too, for the most part, although it's possible that many of the guests who read are undecided.

I agree with you. But remember that the Democrats are the ones who voted for Clinton for two terms. I'd have voted for a dead dog before voting for Clinton so I can relate to the "anyone but" attitude, although not to the "anyone but Bush" version of it.

Bush may have been born with a silver spoon in his mouth and had opportunities most of us haven't had, but he still seems to be a genuine, down-to-earth guy who seems comfortable with everyman (and woman). Kerry comes across as thinking he's better than everyone else.

I keep reading posts where some members apparently believe recent negative revelations are the beginning of the end for Kerry. One member is now talking a landslide for Bush; my first post on this thread addresses this.
We can never assume 45% of those voting for Kerry will ever change their vote because they're voting against Bush, not for Kerry. We can not afford to become complacent just because Kerry continues to be shown an unpatriotic liar - it doesn't matter but to about 10% (the supposed undecided block) of the electorate, which is a small percentage of people to hold the future of our country in their hands. How anyone can be undecided at this point amazes me.

1. Please let's not refer to Democrats as "Democrats" - we have many of them who founded this group and many who participate, here. They are welcome and appreciated.

2. As this is off-topic for the main page, I'm moving it to the geedunk in just a bit.

Thanks! Smile

PostPosted: Sun Aug 22, 2004 3:21 pm    Post subject: How Kerry Might Still Win Reply with quote

I'm beginning to wonder something...

Is it possible that Kerry might still be able to win the election by deflecting the attention of Bush's war records, or questioning SBVT's credibility by citing "official" Navy records he wrote for himself, weathering the storm until September 2, even if he's a little down in the polls by then.

Then, if 527's can't run ads anymore, he goes after Bush's service record, the SBVT can't advertise any more, the Vietnam issue dies in the press, and Kerry starts selling people his socialist health-care program, and wins the election on that.

Somehow, I believe that SBVT has to hit Kerry so hard between now and September 2 (especially in FL) that Kerry will be so far behind he can never come back.

What can SBVT do AFTER September 2 to keep the Vietnam issue (Kerry's awful service AND his 1971 betrayal) alive?
