This should be the SBVT's next commercial. "Christmas in Cambodia? January in Cambodia? Ever in Cambodia?" Then repeat his past statements from the Senate and to the Boston Globe, and go back to his new claims.

It would be devastating and show this man lied about his war record as well as is a flipflopper.

By November it will be...

"I have a memory of the Easter Sunday of 1969 that I spent in the same hemisphere as Cambodia seared...SEARED...into my mind."

How about never in Cambodia?.
Bandit where are you! We both know Kerry was nowhere near Cambodia even when he was in An Thoi.

The Cua Lon and the Bo De weren't even close though the base at An Thoi Island was...(sorta)

He's got himself into so many stories. In his own tape-recorded, later transcribed, journal he talks about Cambodia & being court martial material on Christmas Eve. I think he's deluding himself. That journal read more like a novel than a journal, it was eerie.

John F. Kerry: The Complete Biography
http://www.boston.com/globe/nation/packages/kerry
From PART 2
http://www.boston.com/globe/nation/packages/kerry/journal_day2.shtml
John Kerry's Vietnam War journal, Excerpt from a type-written journal kept by John F. Kerry during his tour of duty in the Vietnam War:

~snip
You head back towards Sa Dec to make your report while transiting the night darkness is broken by tracers flying up out of a Vietnamese outpost that is celebrating Christmas. The bullets pass dangerously near your boat and you think of the stupidity of the whole thing and the ridiculous waste of being shot at by your own allies and so angry you jump on the radio and ask who the hell is shooting at you and inform your seniors that they had better squared away before you return fire. Apologies are quick to (unable to read) but they mean nothing amidst all the chaos and waste.

It's cool now and the evening has closed around you to become full night. The night for once is comforting and you take a coke and some peanut butter and jelly and go up on the roof of the cabin whit your tape recorder and sit for a while, quietly, watching flares float silently through the sky and flashes announce disquieting intent somewhere in the distance. You call down to one of your men and ask him to draft a message to the Admiral in Command of all Naval Forces in Vietnam and also to the Commander of Market Time. IT says "Merry Christmas from the most inland Market Time unit." You hope that they'll court marshal you or something because that would make sense. But the night soothes everything and the people and things that are close to you dart through the mind and bring the only warmth and peace that there is. Visions of sugar plums really do dance through your head and you think of stockings and snow and roast chestnuts and fires with birch logs and all that is good and warm and real. It's Christmas Eve.

In that journal entry he also talks about being attacked...
~snip
You look around and hear your own breathing, smell the hear in the air, see your men now in flak jackets and battle helmets and ready for might come. The (unable to read) arrive and then again, from the bushes, we start to take sniper fire, small arms weapons that can kill but which you feel is just a ploy by Charlie to bring the fire in. Suddenly, in a flash that is a moment of hell and blindness the read erupt and bullets walk out across the water at your boat and those around you. Then screaming flashes of tracer, red and deadly come at you with a terrifying suddenness that catches all by surprise and you watch for a moment as red streaks move at you in a three dimensional kaleidoscope out of the water.

One of many problems with this is, I am told, the enemy used green tracer, not red.

He wrote that journal like some high and lofty novel. He missed his calling. He should have been a writer of fiction.

He simply can't come out and say that he wasn't in Cambodia. The best he could possibly do is just what he's doing now: attempt to change the date to January 1969 so that he could 1) maybe try to spin the "Christmas" thing as "around the Christmas holidays"; 2) get closer to a date when Nixon would have actually been in office (inauguration was Jan 20th). He will eventually get pressed more and, God willing, his latest version will also be proven to be doubtful if not downright fiction. Eventually he'll have no other option but to fall back more strongly on his CIA fable and pray that this goes away.

Somebody sent out the "Christmas in Vietnam" chapter gratis, and I got the e-mail with >>>> forwards. I sent something like this explanation to the original sender:
It can easily be explained since he no doubt hid in a grove of Cambodian marijuana, which was the best weed available over there. It no doubt caused a severe time distortion, from which he never recovered. Laughing Smile

Perjury? Who said pejury? He wasn't testifying in court. Nothing so important as that. Get a clue! He lied on the floor of the U.S. Senate for the purpose of influencing U.S. Foreign policy against communist Sandinistas.

If you're a socialist/communist I'm sure you'll agree with his decision... but then again you'd also agree with his meetings with Madam Binh. Do you know anything of the 3 million that died in the killing field of Vietnam and Cambodia with Kerry's leadership?

Central America would be totalitarian communist states like Cuba if others didn't have the sense not to listen the unreformed communist back-bencher from Mass.

Sorry ... I spoke too soon. Factoring in the tracer colors, etc. it must have been bad acid, not weed.

I will repeat what I have said before. Regardless of when he says it is, there is one fundimental flaw. His original story was centered around listening to Nixon's speech.

Nixon's "we are not in Cambodia" speech was in December of 1969. And yes, it is true that at that point we were in Cambodia. Special forces (not the CIA) had been in Cambodia for months. However, Nixon did not admit that we were there until he announced a full invasion on April 30, 1970.

Regardless, at the point that Nixon gave his speech, Kerry was in a very cushy job back in the States and was requesting an early out of the military.
