I'll state an obvious - me too. Thank you to those involved with Swift Boat Vets for Truth, and their families. Thanks to those supporting them.
As many have said, this may be another finest hour for these men against a bold and arrogant foe. Before they were shunned, at times, no thanks to the calumnies of Kerry. But now they are ridiculed and calumnied by the worst the modern leftwing establishment has systematically cobbled together for forty years. To be publicly ridiculed and misrepresented by the 'stars' of the media biz, to be harrassed and misquoted, to be shouted at and to have them come just a hair shy of being spit on again, by the elite and most famous names to a certain segment of the population, in this time where they've taken up against another war, takes nerve, and fortitude, and certainly the support of each other. It's the people, the souls, by God, who will outlast and defeat the press - fight the real enemy, as someone once said. Because the rest of America, at least a good portion, is as strong as ever, as brave as ever, and as furious as ever at the same leftwing establishment that is doing all of this. I think we'll see the beginning of that backlash in Nov.
I also suspect that some of these names, here, will become more prominent. And I think the interest in this will last long past the election, for many. Americans have gotten one sort of history about Vietnam, steadily, unrelentingly, cheaply and dishonestly. And while many of the Swift vets, and other vets, may not seek that sort of teaching duty, on the web principally, I still think another story about Vietnam is about to be revealed in the coming months and years. And that will be a good thing. |
