Move on is making a serious strategic mistake by slamming the Swiftvets.

They are slamming Vietnam Vets who have a right to their opinion, same as Moore did in that 911 movie. This is going to explode right back in their faces. I believe the Swiftvets for they are really getting nothing for coming forward except ridicule and condemnation by the general media.

This is actually a good move for the GOP and Bush. Move on is slamming people who did their tours with honor and didn't resort to name calling and protest groups when they got back to get elected.

Using McCain in that ad was a bad move, he wasn't a Swifty, was he?

Man oh Man. I like Senator McCain. I think he is a great individual for what he did for the country, for his services and his sacrifices. But let me tell you. That was a STUPID move on his part to criticize the swiftvets before he knew what the facts are, before he even picked up the book. Pure Stupidity. Now this left wing organization funded by nuts like Soros are using his words verbatim in this new ad. They will spin it every possible way Imagineable. I wonder how McCain will answer to this? Will he publicly condemn this new ad for blasting Bush's national guard service? McCain should sleep peacefully tonight knowing that this pandora's box is nothing but his own creation.

Since Soros has pledged his entire fortune, I hope that he blows it all away and ends up broke. And that GWB gets re elected anyway.

I just wrote this letter and emailed it to Senator McCain's office ( given via a link by another member in this thread ).
The direct link for the contact info page is:

I encourage people write to the senator and ask him to publicly condemn this ad as well.

Dear Senator McCain:

Although I am not a resident of Arizona, but as a fellow American citizen, I have the deepest respect for your services and sacrifices to this great nation. However, I am disappointed in knowing that there will be a new television advertisement by MOVEON.ORG that criticizes the President's service in the National Guard. You had recently condemned the television ad by a group of swift boat veterans, all of whom had served their country with honor and distinction. Please be critical of this new advertisement by MOVEON.ORG, as it viciously attacks our President's service in the National Guard. President Bush had served honorably in the National Guards, and the actions of the MOVEON.ORG are not justified.

Sincerely,

A Concerned American

What else do you expect other than calls for censorship of freedom of speech from a leftist group given $5 million by billionaire leftist George Soros?

SwiftVets, you fought the spread of communism in Vietnam.

You are now fighting its spread in the United States.

A Brief History

MoveOn.org, originally known as 'Censure and Move On', was started in 1998 by Boyd & Blades in response to the Impeachment efforts of former President Clinton. They started the website just about a year after selling their Berkeley Systems company to CUC International, and used it as the basis to gather signatures to petition politicians to simply censure Clinton for his mesdeeds, and 'move on' with the business of the people.

The Move On campaign became mildly successful, boasting several thousand signatures from around the Nation within a short period of time. Altogether, the group managed around 300,000 signatures worldwide.

The Rest of the Story

When the Senate failed to Impeach Clinton, the MoveOn.org campaign focused their efforts on getting Democrats elected to office by forming the MoveOn PAC (moveonpac.org). Despite the fact that the PAC donated millions to Democrat candidates nationwide, the effort proved fruitless when Republicans began making gains and ultimately took over control of both the House & Senate in 2002.

Despite the setback for the PAC, the MoveOn.org campaign capitalized on the deaths of thousands of Americans on Sept. 11, 2001. Instead of taking the time to mourn those that had been lost in the terrorist attacks, the group immediately began another petition, this time to ask members of congress and President Bush to avoid a rush to war against terrorism. With the latest effort, the group began seeing more financial support from various 'socially progressive' organizations & non-profit funding groups.

MoveOn.org, though not a registered non-profit, is now able to offer their private contributors tax-deductible benefits when they make their donation through the San Francisco Foundation Community Initiative Fund (a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization). Other organizations providing financial support include the Iraq Peace fund ($20,000 grant - an effort of the "Tides Foundation", tidesfoundation.org), and a grant of $100,000 in 2002 from the Richard & Rhoda Goldman Fund. Coincidentally, the Goldman Fund also provided the now irrelevant Million Mom March with a $4.3 million grant in 1999.

Show MoveOn.org's logo on TV and superimpose a sinister-looking picture of George Soros. Show how much money he has contributed to MoveOn.org and point out that he is a convicted inside trader (by a French court), and that he has described the United States as a threat to world peace. There are plenty of other things wrong with him that can be used to damage MoveOn.org's credibility.
