Just watched our news here in WV and about 2,000 vets are calling people telling them not to support what the swiftvets are saying. I don't know too many people to contact to get the information out. This is a state where the truth needs to get out and fast. It is a swing state and I don't know how they can not read Kerry. They have it in their head it is not true. Someone help I can't stand to see Kerry get away with his lies again

Sorry, but I find this number highly unbelievable. The news of the Swifties ad has only been out about a month now. I've been involved in telemarketing and also volunteer call centers and scaring up that many people to make cold phone calls is pretty tough to do in such a short time. Also, I have never seen a lot of "older" people doing this. Since most Vietnam (or earlier) vets are in their 50s and up, I dont give this story a lot of credibility.

Also, I dont believe they could find so many people so quickly who would SUPPORT Kerry on this. His statements about American soldiers behavior in vietnam are well known. This alone would turn off many Vietnam vets. Plus, you have to be a pretty hard-core political junkie, like most of us, to take your own time to make phone calls to strangers for a political cause.

Finally, why oh why would the Kerry campaign want to TELL so many veterans about this story in the first place? It really hasn't hit "the front page" yet. Why purposely tell so many vets about this and then ask them to call strangers and say its not true?

I believe this story is made up to give the impression that vets are rallying around Kerry, or the number is more like 20, not 2000.

My 2 cents.

I don't wish to disparage West Virginia and their educational system...but now that mascari mentions it, the number seems high to me as well.

This shows the organization of the Democratic Party and how far they will go to discredit the truth. Media and others should be investigating who organized the 2,000 veterans, are they really veterans?? are they paid and by whom? Action like this should be considered "dirty" politics and stopped by grass roots effort and the government when the law is violated.

WV is one of the 3 swing states where the SBVFT TV ads have been playing. Imagine thats why the response from team kerry.

He boasts that he has 100,000 vets signed up to help him with his campaign, so the 2000 vets may not be an unreal number. He could even have them bused in...wouldnt put it past him, he's pretty desparate to win this election.

Hope this backfires on him.

Maybe they're just posing as veterans and are really Kerry campaign workers. Wink

Just where did 2000 vets come from in such a short period of time? This news story is just that...a story. I DO NOT believe it! Just think about it for a minute, and you will see that it is rediculous. The story is a smoke screen ginned up to make people believe that vets are massed, ready to defend "John I am Fonda Jane sKerry." It ain't true! Skerry's had it both ways for too long. Then an anti war vet, and now a war hero. The former is true, and full of lies. The latter is NOT true, and full of lies. Vets are massed, thanks to the O'Neil/Corsi expose' "Unfit for Command," to expose John I am Fonda Jane sKerry for the lier he is!

Well, I live in WV and I haven't seen this organized "Mass of Vets" Against the SWift Boat Vets on the News. I have seen oodles of nasty letters to the editor of our local paper from people with only one who purported to be a Vet.

What part of WV is this protest coming out of? Is it StateWide? Localized? More around the Morgantown area? Charleston? I would like to know more about it if it indeed exists. Please post your information. I can send a letter to the editor of that local newspaper.

For the record, WV is filled with Vets and a lot of them are Vietnam Vets. I've sent the Swift Boats Vet links to ones I know and have had recent contact with.

My personal feeling about the VietVets reacting negatively to the SWiftboat Vets ads are doing so because of being Shell Shocked. They are just numb. (does that make sense?).

[rabbit trail]

I think because of the lack of education in this state and the great Democratic stranglehold, certain facts may not have been made known to these Vets about John Kerry. Here in WV, to some, voting Straight Democratic Party is more important [patriotic]than the Red White and Blue and good common sense. That is why Robert Byrd has thrived and revered in this state. The great Savior..[barf]

Those of you in WV need to be writing letters to the editor of your local papers, writing to TV stations, putting out fliers, have a rally with other Vets and others if you want;/
