.................. “You were not on the same boat??" .....................
I continued to be amazed at the ridiculous statements used by the "talking
heads talking points” Democratic spokespersons concerning eyewitness
accounts of actions taken by John Kerry. Lanny Davis even went as far as
to categorize such accounts as lies because the eyewitnesses were “not
on the same boat as John Kerry.” As these images graphically illustrate,
one did not have to physically be on the same boat during a Swift Boat
operation to be intimately acquainted with both what was going on in an
accompanying boat or also with the people aboard those boats:
.... ..............
In addition, when the boats returned from a mission, everyone lived and
ate and bunked on/in the same living quarters: a berthing ship, LST or
small base. Swift Boat divisions were very small. Everybody knew all of
the other people intimately and well. Whether they got along with them or
not. The Swift Boat sailors that “served with John Kerry” definitely had as
much or more contact with him as any of his assigned crewmen.

That is an awesome photo. I have emailed everyone on my list. This "not on the same boat" is weak but not so if the they use "ship" and the listener is not knowledgable. _________________ The war against terrorism is not that Americans might die rather that we would alter our way of living. Another poster made a good point in another thread about this claim. Remember, it was Kerry that put up the first picture of him with the 19 other Officers saying he served with all of them. Now, they want to claim they didn't serve togather, since they weren't on the same exact boat? _________________ Clark County Conservative |

I guess this logic also would say "not on the same airplane?' Or tank? How about a jeep? Bicycle? C'mon Lanny, your constituents thought you were smarter than that. _________________ '58 Airedale HMR(L)-261 VMO-2 |

You didn't need to be on the same boat to know everyone. We shared the same barracks. Each boat only held 5 to 7 crewmembers. Each barracks probably held 50 or more. There probably weren't 100 to 125 Americans on the base. Believe me everyone knew everyone. Additionally, when the boats went out, they wouldn't normally go out solo.
It's like when you go fishing and see someone in a nearby boat illegally keep an undersize bass or more than the limit. |

Something tells me that the issue of "not in the same boat" has considerably lessened since Brit Hume and MAJ Cowan's discussion, today.

Interesting photos ... these should be sent to the news moderators/reporters so that they might offer rebuttal to those talking heads.
Facts do not always prevail unfortunately. |

And since GWB flew single-seat jets, NO ONE served with him using the Kerry definition of "served with". Therefore, NO ONE is qualified to speak about his service. |

For the sake of completeness, perhaps include pictures of the LST, berthing ship, or typical base where the crews would bunk together afterwards.
BTW, what DO the people who served on Kerry's boat actually say?
I don't know how to find any actual data on that. The talking heads usually do a "bait and switch", talking about Rassman, who of course did not actually serve on that boat either, with all due respect to what he went through.
Is that info on a FAQ file somewhere here? |
