Excellent response from Mr Thurlow. The reply also repeats the SBVT charge that Kerry fled the battle. |

Perfect.

This is a great response. There is one thing the media will ask Larry that is not answered in his statement. He says he was informed he would receive the citation 3 months after he left the service. He should make it clear whether or not he ever saw/read the Citation, and what he thought at the time if he did read it. I'm not a vet, so I don't know the process (i.e. do you get notified of the Citation, and then get the medal, or does the medal come w/ the Citation).
Maybe a vet could help me out on that. _________________ Visit www.crushkerry.com to see John Kerry's positions filleted. |

I always wonder with all of this enemy fire Kerry is always claiming, why was no one shot? |

Let me modify what I just posted. I hadn't read the Post article. And they did link to a facsimile of the citation for Thurlow. And it mentions a raging gun battle, basically, in three places. You couldn't miss it if you tried.
Certainly, when he got back, one must assume Thurlow read the citation and knew it was wrong for all that exaggeration. It does seem surprizing that this would even BE news. That's the surprize. The testimonies haven't changed. The affidavits aren't wrong. But unfortunately official military documents ARE. That's been the Kerry story that the Swift vets have literally been working to explain.
But I'm glad O'Dell and O'Neill just reminded people about Thurlows service, about the great risks that he took that day, and how he really did deserve the medal, but just not for the hyperbole added on by the corrupt and despicable Kerry.
So I would amend what I wrote to say that while Thurlow probably should have let people know about this, or given the 'heads up', it's understandable. And all things considered, and not to upset anyone, but I just have to say about it - so what? So what? Whatever disagrace in that citation is not his - it's the guy who wrote it up, or provided the faulty information.
And everyone can see who that was.
