Since MoooveOn.org used a clip from SBVFT's commercial...well I'm sure the commercial was copywritten and as such a serious breach of law has occurred. Tell kerry to Cease & Desist.

Nope, no copyright violation - all is fair in love, war, and the news.

There is an excellent reply explaining how things work on the wintersoldier website when they were told to stop using a section of the winter soldier film on the site.

I'm not an "intellectual property" lawyer (or copyright specialist), but there's a doctrine known as "fair use" that authorizes republication of copyrighted material, at least in limited amounts, for purposes of furthering an on-going public debate. My gut tells me that anything either side puts out in this controversy is not going to be the subject of a valid copyright infringement claim.

People are interested in what's going on and I bet a few are noticing it's another Kerry attack on Vietnam Vets.

Eh. They can pay lawyers for years off what they spend on windsurfing and snowboarding toys (and the private jet flights to get to the places they use 'em.) Outspending these guys isn't an option.

I've been enjoying your comments on your blog. Unfortunately, I have to agree with you that Swiftvets can't outspend the Kerry Campaign, much less MoveOn.org.

Let's hope that, for once, honesty will trump politics.
